Root ultimate ascend customization guide.

okay dude. i have a mission for everyone (: I need help in getting back google talk, without market. i formated my phone deleting the root and what not,. soo i have nothing. :/ I NEED HELP! <3 Please help mee<3
 
You will have to start from.square one again-choose your setup from the OP and have it. At least that way everything will be working correctly :)

Im talking about just starting from the first post in this thread (link is in my post up there ^^^^)-then going step by step to restore your phone.
Just takes a little time and patience but Toke's guide is really easy to follow(even I can do it) :thumb::laugh::proud:

yes thats the thing, i reset my phone and cant get phandroid back or titanium back up either.
 
Do what tokenpoke said, look up playfuldroidz wiki site, the latest gapps is there. Save it to your computer, unzip it(or just open it up in winzip, and extract that one apk), copy it to your sdcard, and install it.
 
Oh, and market will work without gtalk, but maybe not gvoice. I uninstalled gtalk so long ago, and maps, downloaded maps again, and it was easy to install it as a user app, same with gmail. Had to do those steps, cause titanium backup has a nasty way of hanging when I changed system apps to user apps, the app was deleted, instead of changed. The backups, were still copys of system apps.
 
I have been looking for two weeks now for an app of some kind that can root my phone. I am an All Star Googler - No seriously, I am ;) And this is the first time I have found ANYTHING about an app for rooting. Thank you for putting it out there and if there is a way to make this thread easier for people to find, I am all for it!

It depends on your current android version is 2.1 or 2.2.2

2.1 uses z4root, and 2.2.2 uses gingerbreak

I am not sure if I am going about asking this the right way, if not I am sorry. I installed CM7 on my metro Ascend and Everything went great. I installed it exactly the same on my wifes ascend and it wont move past the red ascend boot screen. I used all the same files. Any help would be appricated.
 
Hi all!

I feel so dumb for not looking up forums like this sooner since I've had this phone for over a year now.:o I have been tired of how slow my phone worked with its 600MHz processor. I used a program called Unlock Root and after a little struggle actually getting the program (I had to Google it because the maker's website always had errors for the download link), and getting it to recognize my phone, I have been rooted.
I have been happily deleting away all the bloatware crap by using Root Explorer that would infuriate me with taking up the valuable majority of 167MB of phone storate space thanks to posts from people like Tokenpoke and Jazziette. I love Root Explorer. It likes to crash though when you want it to do extensive big things, and then it's hard to launch again sometimes!

I'm currently sitting at 113MB/167MB of Internal
My RAM is always hovering around 30-40MB free, of 178MB

My issues are those stats!

The Huawei website says these phones are supposed to come with FAR MORE memory capacities! It says 256MB RAM and 512MB Flash Memory for the M860! How did MetroPCS throttle my memory capacities to 178MB and 167MB respectively?

Is it possible to modify a file(s) using Root Explorer to "Unlock" them and get the full capacities back?

Lemme play catch-up and see if I can help.

Cm7 boots non overclocked now right?

If not I believe there may be an issue with your wife's recovery.
(Insert ascend catchphrase) reflash and retry (end catchphrase)

If you have flashed other roms on her phone then recovery shouldn't be the issue.

If cm7 boots overclocked then try the lazy ascend cm7 file.

If the lazy version boots then your her phone is lazy.

I may think of more, may be back.
