Root I've Partitioned My SD Card, Now What?

weather? that sounds like a system app. might be the problem.

Might not be the case though cos I'm trying to restore those crossed out apps at the bottom (neither are system files right cos none are green) and boom! stuck at weather again! But there's no weather app down there! think it's the data dashboard app...or maybe the HTC Sync 878....hmm

if they are system apps they will be in red not green.

edit: what batch restore are you doing?

Ok now check this out...only reason I am even attempting to restore these apps is to see how much internal memory I end up with...I didn't even do a complete restore because I've been restoring in small batches and my internal memory right now is 186MB!
This means that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the other ROM at all.
Could it be that one or two apps are huge?
I know Voxer alone is 83.46 MB...Angry Birds is 25.43MB.
My thing is, if I have a partitioned card, why would I loose 200MB after restoring about 25-30 apps & their data?

keep in mind that the internal space is not only for your apps and data but also it is your ram and also your caches as well. so it is not uncommon for it to go and down.

what does tb say you have?

I got the amount from TB...it says I have 186MB free in internal.
My thing is if 20+ apps ate up 200MB it's only a matter of time before that 186MB is eaten up and then I'll be back to square one with low space!

I'm not throwing a tantrum or anything...I mean not too long ago I had 43MB free so yeah...LOL

I'm just wondering how so many are claiming to have several apps with 300+ MB free in internal. I just want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong.

BTW, TB says I have 1.75GB free of 1.91GB SD Card (a2sd).
What is that, like 160MB of space being used?

keep on going. my internal fluctuates from 150-200mb, but i have 150 apps on my card with a 2g ext3 partition.

Ok...ok....well I guess I'm doing good then!

I'll be trying other ROM.
I'll try Argedion's suggestion and I also want to try CyanogenMod...
I figure what the hell...flashing ROMs is quite simple so why the hell not...LOL

uh oh yet another flashaholic joins the rank:D

Just some helpful tidbits.

MikG stores some of its system apps in the data partition. So titanium thinks its a user app when in fact it is a system app and can conflict with your new ROM.

Basically, if its not something you can download and install from the market, it is a system app and shouldnt be touched.

Right...I figured that...that's why I started to restore only the apps I personally downloaded and that worked fine.
I figure that's all I need really because any other preferences I can set on my own.

What ROM are you using Xpert?
I'm going to try out more ROMs :D

Well... I smashed the poo outta my screen a few nights ago. So I am currently phone-less untill best buy gets my new one in. And then I may be upgrading in a few weeks.

My two ROMS of choice are Tommy's Classic EVO (which you've tried) and decks reloaded.

You can also move dalvik to SD to open up more room on the internal. I dont know if you tried that yet on the current working setup

Oh crap! That sucks! Did you drop it?
What are you going to upgrade to?

Nah I didn't do that because I am not keeping the Tommy ROM...it's too...simple. LOL
I like pimp out ROMs :D

I use to go to my brother-in-law (he has a Galaxy S2 no custom ROM) and go, "check it out...look how cool my unlocking ring is...how does your S2 unlocks? Oh that's right...you got the boring stuff" LMAO
Of course he aint got low memory issues like me though.
And his pics are bananas in comparison to my Evo's.
Camera 360 work so much better on his phone than on mine...

Yeah... it was more of a toss. :trytofly:

I'm not sure what I want to upgrade to. The sound of having a pure android experience and fast updates with the nexus line rocks, but at the same time we have killer devs going on to the evo 4g LTE

Yeah... it was more of a toss. :trytofly:
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha...damn! And I thought I was bad!
I had to walk away from the partition thing a couple of times just so that I overcome wanting to smash mine! LMFAO!

Yeah I've heard some good stuff about it too.
I actually like the Galaxy S2...although I don't like the new design that's coming out. I have plenty of time to figure it out as we don't do "upgrades" here... have to purchase my phones fully unlocked and contract free so it's my choice and pocket capability really.

Nah...all I've tried thus far is MikG...
Is Kornerz a pimp out ROM? :D

i like it. it is very unique in that you can setup your certain apps on the 4 corners of the screen. in other words the rosie which is where you would normally have your app drawer, phone, personalize buttons are found. check it out.

have not tried this, but this was just posted seems pretty good. http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-7-rls-may-31-2012-sense-1-0-geturswagon.html

i have tried the sos rom awhile back and it was pretty good.
Looks like there's two, one with sense and the other without.
I'm still not very clear with sense....but I do recall hating the HTC Sense facebook, Peep, etc apps. Horrible apps!

Correction...there's actually 5 different versions!
And the SOS X says is a "flashaholic's worst nightmare"...so I'm staying away from that! LOL

Swag calls it that because its supposed to be the best one out there and once you flash it you wont want to ever flash another ROM. X is the best one he has currently and I believe N is what is supposed to be Senseless but really its just replacing stuff by using Go stuff in its place. Sense is still in the background.

I also don't like the way he started doing "Hot Fix's" It takes me back to my Window's Days. I'ts really a PITA. I'm also really not all that fond of the aroura installer either I prefer the old text way :) but I'm an Old School Kinda Guy.

If your going to do a lot of flashing you may want to consider getting Boot Manager it's a pretty cool program allowing you to have several ROMS at once. You have to be careful though it can start killing your SDCARD space quick. The more ROMs you have the more it needs. It's worth the money for the pro version.

Yeah I said I was going to stay away from it until I read "Bad-Ass Sense 4.0 Theme" in the description :D
So I of course downloaded just the one I said I'd stay away from :p

The Aroura installer wasn't bad...I was a bt surprised I could touch my screen...I got used to the vol & power buttons.

Several ROMs at once? That sounds like a disaster to me!
I'll just stick to trying ROMs that interest me one at a time...
I realize that if I have a kick ass ROM (stable and awesome performance) then I can try out different themes to "pimp out" my phone.
I really liked MikG...hardly had any issues with it.
Now I'll give SOS X a try...
This one came with kernel options (I chose Underworld) and a theme option (I chose Miui vs4) which is awesome because I wanted to try kernels!

Now, about partition...do I have to partition my card every time I try out a ROM??? I flashed SOS X and upon opening Titanium I don't see a2sd in the home screen! What's up with that?! Does that mean my card is no longer partitioned?!
