Root I've Partitioned My SD Card, Now What?

The Aroura installer wasn't bad...I was a bt surprised I could touch my screen...I got used to the vol & power buttons.


Several ROMs at once? That sounds like a disaster to me!
I'll just stick to trying ROMs that interest me one at a time...
I realize that if I have a kick ass ROM (stable and awesome performance) then I can try out different themes to "pimp out" my phone.
I really liked MikG...hardly had any issues with it.
Now I'll give SOS X a try...
This one came with kernel options (I chose Underworld) and a theme option (I chose Miui vs4) which is awesome because I wanted to try kernels!

Now, about partition...do I have to partition my card every time I try out a ROM??? I flashed SOS X and upon opening Titanium I don't see a2sd in the home screen! What's up with that?! Does that mean my card is no longer partitioned?!

you are still partitioned the ROM does not change the physical structure of your disk however it does not know that you have Partitioned it. a2sd is setup on a per ROM basis and not a 1 Time thing remember the ROM is the OS and as it changes so does everything else. Unlike a computer where you can have several partitions on the drive and the computer OS picks it up ROM's do not as they are not designed to look for other partitions like an OS is. That is why when you change ROMs you are to wipe SD ext and then restore with TB and then DT will kick in and put them back It's a Tedious process but necessary for the time.

Shit...I don't think I wiped the ext however I used superwipe...doesn't that do it?

and then restore with TB and then DT will kick in and put them back It's a Tedious process but necessary for the time.

Restore what with TB? My apps? I didn't restore cos I am not seeing my partition so I don't want to restore and my apps don't go into partition.
And I am assuming you're telling me I have to do the su and a2sd reinstall right?

Any ROM that doesn't have a2Sd installed can become one by flashing https://dl.dropbox.com/u/63060876/dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip after flashing your ROM

no superwipe does not wipe the sd ext.

and yes to tb. when you restore your apps with tb, if a2sd is cooked in then as tb is restoring a2sd will move the apps to the card. and using terminal emulator to command the apps in will depend on the rom. read the rom's changelog and op and see if you can find anything about a2sd being cooked in or not.

and just remember not all roms have DT support, though most of the roms do now these days. just saying this as a precaution.
 
Got it. This restore thing isn't as flawless as I thought but as it's not the same ROM I am forced to restore slowly to not encounter any issues.

have to do some stuff to turn on support for init.d , would have to compare a ROM that has the support with a ROM that does not have the support and figure out the difference and how to set it up.

We all have a bunch of issues when we start. I think enthusiasm creates a wall of stupid that our brain must tear down and help us to calmly do things so as we get the gist of what we are actually doing and not what we think we're doing. Welcome to flashaholics we do it because we are gluttons for punishment :D With control comes the irresistible urge to be a Genius after 1 successful attempt :p
