Root Optimus V won't boot into Bootloader/Fastboot mode?

Code:
adb reboot recovery
brings me to recovery

Code:
adb reboot bootloader
just reboots the phone

I'm not finding anyone else with these issues? How can I get to bootloader/fastboot mode?

Hmmmm, did you update to ZV9? Maybe they made the bootloader no longer accessible? On my optimus M it's only accessible by flashing a bad recovery...

i'm VM670VZ5.

i wanted to flash recovery via fastboot and make a backup before rooting and changing rom's.

The v with ZV5 has the bootloader locked so you can't get to fastboot and stuff. You have to root the phone and use Flash_image to install a custom recovery.

What for? No one wanted to install the zv9. He/she was asking a questoin about bootloader.

If you read the guide then you would understand why I said to follow the guide. The Guide is for rooting via flashing a custom recovery on stock zv9. he/she wants to install a custom recovery before rooting and the guide for flashing the recovery well work on zv4 ans zv5.

Lol, he/she is a he...

Yeah, rooting isn't an issue... I was hoping to boot into cwm from the bootloader and make a 100% stock backup before. I started. It's all good though and thanks everyone for the help!

There are two stock nandroid backups in the all things root guide, the title is something like return to stock and unroot.
