Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Except they allowed pre-orders to be grandfathered in...

You have to remember there are a lot of people who don't follow this stuff day to day and might not know about how the new plans will effect them. I am guessing there are alot of people who think their unlimited will continue to be grandfathered. There is a reason all of this plan info has come out in a somewhat confusing manner, this is all to plan. Also alot of folks don't like to buy something until they can see it or reviews are out. Trust me, Verizon will be getting a lot of people off the unlimited plans in the next couple of months which is just what they want.

I'd just like a damn battery life comparison on an lte model. Canadian or AT&T would be fine. Instead, I have to wade through 3000+ pages of review that stems from other people's reviews using Google search.

I think this is a lets see moment. I am not entirely sure ANY vendor will release tomorrow. Maybe they trickle some out tomorrow, maybe not, maybe they open the flood gates. Not sure. But I would not be surprised to see the other vendors delay the release or soft release the products just to say they were first.

Greetings, folks. New to the forum, and I have a preorder with Verizon on the GS3. I've been following this thread since day 1 of the preorder, and I'm trying to contain my excitement and patience. :D

Anyway, AnandTech has a review up for AT&T & TMO if you're interested, which I posted in the AT&T thread.

Phonedog did an AT&T model review on Youtube I watched this morning. Said LTE was a lot more battery intensive, and he would get 15-17 hours on moderate use on the international version compared to about 12 on the LTE version with moderate use.

those same people if the phone was released on the 28th would put them into the new plans.... Saying they are waiting 2 weeks for family share is BS if that was the case why not do preorders after that date and not allow any of those grandfathered to keep it?

12 is still pretty good especially with the nexus getting like 6-7 with same usage.

But if they released it on the 28th people with unlimited that are Pratt about buying a phone sight unseen could renew their contract on the 27th with one of VZW current devices thereby keeping unlimited, then bring it in for an exchange on the 28th when the GSIII comes out. With the ship/release date a full two weeks behind the implementation of share everything, this is impossible. Anyone who has unlimited that wants to keep it and wants the GSIII has to pre-order. This also has the added benefit of boosting VZW's pre-order #'s. I know I wouldn't have pre-ordered if it weren't for the change in policy.

Again, just my .02.:)

No company in there right mind is going to activate thousands of lines on the same day new plans go into effect.

I just read through anandtech and droid-life reviews. As usual anandtech did most through and objective review. Seems GSIII is getting good positive remarks on call quality, reception mostly. Something Gnex couldn't unfortunately.

I think samsung is taking great care of quality on their flagship GS line phones, but not so much on Nexus line. Hopefully that will change if/when they get to next nexus device.

The way date changes are trending, July 9th seems best case at the moment.

The only thing VZW is early with is bad news.

Unfortunately, our original confirmation email to you contained an incorrect Ship By Date of June 6; the actual ship date for your order is July 9.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We recognize that you have a choice in wireless service and thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless.

If you ordered on the 6th your phone will ship on the 9th.

I agree. I think samsung is putting the best they have(or that works w/carriers) in their galaxy line and since google has control of the nexus and chooses what goes into it, they do not care as much. Honestly the #1 thing I care about is reception and signal. If it is good and close to on par with htc devices I will be happy. I know it won't be on the level of moto because they use hands down the best radios.

Pfff I am new too but let my self in and made myself home lol

I agree with others here that it's not coming until July 9th. I think I've seen almost every tech site's reviews and the AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile versions have all been reviewed. No one has the Verizon version which makes me think it's not even ready yet. I don't know what the holdup could be (I'd say bloatware, but every review model has that.)

If it wasn't ready it would be coming a lot later than july 9th. The devices are sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for verizon to give the green light. If they weren't ready verizon would have never taken a preorder if it was 2+months away and was still having issues.
