I would tell him to think long and hard weather or not he wants to keep me as a customer. Scolding me about a return policy that VZW created that does not effect him should be a no no. Especially as he is the Manager?

Or even better, whether or not he wants to keep his job or not. I think you should complain to someone. That story got me so mad! How dare he treat you like that when you're perfectly within your rights and within the rules to return the Eris and wait on "something better." He should keep his big mouth shut! I'm usually a pretty calm person, but this story seriously set me off.

So my 30 days on the droid is almost up do I take the chance and return it and wait. Or perhaps switch back to ATT because I havent been too impressed with the verizon service.

Oooo Ooooo. I have the answer to this one. But I am not sure I should give you the answer. I think the silly answer would be please go back and enjoy your crappy service and that one phone that should be left unmentioned.

But the real answer is if you go back to the AT&T service you would be a moron. They do not have anything on the 3G that Verizon has. Plus when this phone does hit and people are sporting it around you and your other phone (The one I dare not say.) your going to kick yourself.

Enjoy

Instead of listening to this guy, you should go with whatever provider has the best service in your area. As much as VZW touts their awesome 3G which it is and it is everywhere, it's not as fast as AT&T's, but with speed comes the reliability of their service. Just make sure you have a damn good signal in your house.

The iPhone is a damned good phone, but I honestly would never chance it with AT&T. I prefer the fact that I don't have to figure out ways to get around the locked down ecosystem that is the iPhone and App Store. It definitely keeps the phone and community under control and allows you to do almost anything right out of the box, but there's always the people that want more features and more customization which is the Android OS.

Also, I'm literally dying over here waiting for this Incredible. This Storm is quite possibly getting to be the worst phone I've ever had to deal with. I was excited and happy with it the first few months I had it, then it got stale and basically turned out to be a piece of junk seeing as how it basically got no support. I want to call VZW customer service, but I don't know if they'll be able to give me a replacement or anything. I'm currently still within my 1 year so hopefully I can get something or maybe even a Storm 2 to tide me over till the Incredible comes out.

I couldn't agree more with this. Basically what he's saying is that we know from confirmed specs that this phone will seriously obliterate every other phone on the market to-date. It will also blow away every other phone coming to AT&T in the near future. Our suggestion: Come over to the best network that will, in the next few weeks, have the best phone by a long shot in the U.S. for very well the foreseeable near future.

I returned my Droid Eris yesterday at my local VZW store, and the manager scolded me for returning it and because I said, I'll wait for something better. "Next time you purchase a phone, think hard and long about if you want it," he says.

I think he's just mad because he knew the Incredible is coming haha

As a customer, if a sales rep or manager where I bought something scolded me, I would have told him HIS store pushed the sale on me and upon trying it, it didn't live up to expectations so I'm returning it to wait for something better. You should have responded that next time you will think long an hard about coming into his store to buy a phone. What a d-bag.

Where did you see that Sense 2.1 had 11 screens? I don't think I've ever seen a Sense phone with 11 screens on video (which is alot).

And I do believe that a Sprint representative has confirmed a summer release for the SS.

it was from a blog site, the only one of which made the claim. i posted the link some pages back have to dig up. but recently saw a youtube clip of the lenged running 2.1 with sense so im guessing 7 pages is the standard.

i also saw they were loading it with 100 of thier own widgets which is a good sign that the onboard memory is a good bet.

I wouldn't dare get an iphone. I was thinking about the N1 since it was announced for ATT. I tried using my droid to stream pandora but I dont get 3g here at work and I get alot of "unable to send message" when I text. Since this is my first smart phone I don't know how my ATT 3g was :/

imagine how excited i was when i found this, this morning, only to be disappointed when i clicked on the link to find it was a misdirect :( sob
then again the price was a bit high

HTC Incredible Review

seems like they took one off and finally realized it was the buy it now for the n900 and not incredible. smucks.

I am hopefully going to own an Incredible on launch day, which seems like it might be March 27th, from what I have been reading here. I have made mention of phone virtualization and running a full virtual desktop from a phone in earlier posts, but was just readong this article and was wondering if any of our Verizon/HTC insiders could tell us if the Incredible has the OLK Microvison built in??

Below is a clip from the full article and the link to it:

What are the chances that we will see a Nirvana Phone for sale any time soon? Well, the OKL4 Microvisor is embedded in smartphones such as the HTC G1, G2, and the HTC Hero, the Motorola Droid and Cliq, the Palm Pre, and the Toshiba TG01OK . Most significantly the OKL4 Microvisor powers the world's only commercially-available fully-virtualized smartphone, the Motorola Evoke QA4. So the core technology is already operational in the field, and it becomes a matter of detail to get the Citrix Receiver integrated with a production platform - that and find a mobile wireless operator interested in offering it as a service.

Man, i'd be shocked if anyone is able to answer this question... We don't have the phone yet, as you know, and this is such a niche topic that i just don't think you'll get your answer here...

Nevertheless, good luck...

As I recently (3/6) purchased two Eris phones and subsequently found this forum regarding the Incredible, I'm hoping you can enlighten me regarding how much bigger the Incredible screen is over the Eris? I like the compactness of the Eris, so trying to determine if the Incredible will be a "large" phone. Is there a phone currently in Verizon inventory that compares to the "size" of the Incedible, so I could go and compare?

The Incredible is a little bit smaller than the Motorola Droid. It's less "blocky" and has more rounded edges, where the Droid has square, hard edges and corners. The screen is the same size as the Droid. So, if you go and check the size compared to the Droid, just imagine it a little bit smaller, lighter and more "ergonomic," if you will. That should give you a pretty good idea. Hope this helped.

Thanks for the reply.

I passed on the Droid because I didn't care for the squareness of the phone and really didn't like the sliding keyboard. With your information, I can go back to the Verizon store and compare the Eris screen to the Droid screen and get a visual on the overall size of what the Incredible will be.

Obviously, I didn't do my homework or research prior to buying the Eris phones.

People keep saying the screen size of the N1/Incredible is the same size as the Droid but the screen dimensions are different with the N1/Incredible being a little wider in the verticle position where the Droid screen is taller due the extra pixels. Kind of like comparing a 36" widescreen tv to a 36" 4:3 tv. This should make the onscreen keyboard a little easier to use because the screen itself is a little wider making the virtual buttons larger.

This sounds fantastic. I recall typing on the Droid's screen and then using me friend's iPhone. The screen was much slimmer and harder to type because I was completely used to the iPhone's width.

I can't wait for this phone.

Also, I realize this is unrelated but it will be of great help to me so I can actually bear waiting for this phone. Is anyone here a VZW CSR (Phone CSR)? I need to get a replacement phone and the only way to do it is via phone. If anyone can help me, PM me please.

Yeah, I am aware of that. I was just trying to put it into understandable terms so that this new member with a mere 2 posts would understand it the easiest. Getting into 480 x 800 vs 480 x 854 would most likely just confuse someone who isn't as familiar with this stuff as you and me. You're correct though. The screen on the Droid is different, but both phones are very similar in size.

I did a trial on the Droid and didn't like the verticle virtual keyboard very much, so I like the sound of the Incredible being wider. Also hated the slider kbd on Droid. Just made the phone clunky and made for yucky cases. really looking forward to having nice clean cases/sleves/skins to protect my Incredible.

Here is pics of the three phones. Picture size will be different so keep that in mind when looking at the screens. Like nash said a better looking phone than the Droid with basically the same size screen as the Droid.

1. Incredible
2. Droid
3. Eris

Gee, please don't ban me for this, but doesn't the Incredible look like the iPhone, in that picture?

Yep. I've thought the same thing ever since the first leaks. That's why I like the Desire's design so much better. I don't want those Apple fanboys thinking I'm trying to be like them with my Incredible...
