thanks for sharing the info, im not the only who has tested this and said da**. But i have tried this on different themes and rom and it was a no go. :D

I flashed the undo mod and it worked just fine for me. Usually i don't waste time flashing when u can just copy and paste the apk to system apps and then reboot. Never fails. Never had to run a backup thought to install an app. That's strange

The original apk reinstalled just fine - but it also gave me the "unable to extract frame" BS... that's why I had to do a restore to get the cam working again. Strange indeed... I've never had that happen before.

Btw this worked for me! Followed the instructions & camera app is installed/works. Looks good! I used root explorer :)

i made it work after getting the unable to extract frame error while using the flash.zip, magically root explorer came to the rescue, deleted the stock app, who needs it anyways, pasted the modded app, while in root explorer if you click on the modded app it will give you the option to install, so i did just that, well i found out you don't need to reboot but i did it anyways just to make sure everything works, btw am on #2 test 3, ics theme ))

Good News!
ok, I got the camera to work again.
Go to system settings, manage applications, and clear cache and any
application data (camera) try camera again.

Yeah we've done that a hundred times over, still don't fix it.

Come on guys, figure this shit out ;)

It is something in the framework that is disabling the camera after so long or as soon as yu flash it. I first got the Unable to extract blah blah. Then I did to many things to list and it worked and after about an hour or so it will give me the error again I feel like my esteem is technicaly disabled

Tried this on #2 ver 2 just for the hell of it last night......................
......

AND GUESS WHAT????????? FINALLY OMG...............................................

Still doesnt work :(

brokenout esteem rom, 1.1 blitz kernel (hdmi fix)

downloaded, extracted file, deleted original, pushed via adb. reboot.
no wiping of any cache, no install, and...
IT WORKED, confirmed via VLC @ 30.59923 fps

lets see how long it takes to get the extraction code error
also, a 3 sec video took 1-2 min to render/load after i stopped recording.....

That's awesome you got it working. But if it can't work for the ROM of my choosing then it's pointless for me. :/

Damn i wish someone could figure it out. Lol

also build.prop ro.media.fps=# was at 65, changed the value to 30, dropped my bps back down to 10 instead of 35.

edit >:-(

back to unable to extract frame......
