Root [MOD] LG Esteem 720p @ 30FPS (UPDATED 9/5/12)

If it makes yall feel any better mine works. I'm on #2 2.0 and I had the default cam what I did was use super manager and all I did was rename the 30fps one to CameraApp.apk (which I know renaming doesn't change anything but just filling in on all that I did) overwritten it over to system/app after that I rebooted and clear data before I used it. It works fine so far. I have a feeling it'll screw over eventually. In the meantime I'll keep toying with it for another day or so and report back what I got.
 
I wish people could get this working :(
It's an awesome mod. Even though I rarely use my camera, I still feel better when I have this.

What do you mean by "clear data"?
 
I can get (com.android.camera) to record at stock fps but the normal camera still displays unable to extract frame. Using PG's new ROM with P-bots ics theme. Hope this is useful info.
 
Can someone please figure this out :(
I feel like my esteem is crippled without this.
I have no clue how to do anything with it, but if someone wants to teach me:rolleyes:
I sit at my computer (when I'm not packing boxes :p) so I'd have some time to devote :D

Easier way is to get application manager, I can't live without it.

I guess I amlucky, the camera still works after I did the cache clear a few days ago. I have the feelinv that once someone figures out this, the LG has the pop otential for even higher frame rates and quality video. For example the LG camera Pro from themarket cando perfect macro video.

Hi all I wonder why not trying the camera apk from the LG Revolution, it should work. Maybe we could request posting of the file on the Revolution news group.RL
 
got it working again?? lol, wiped cache and dalvik, rebooted a few times, spilled lambs blood on it and sprinkles some pyrites of copper on it. bam! gonna go back to stock after a few more vids of my youngest walking (just starting too!) :-) i dont want to do that every time.
 
Anyone having any luck with this thing yet?
Has anyone managed to get it to be stable for any length of time?

We need someone to make this mod work... for all ROMs

yes it will be greas t when it does. I wonder why it works in some and others it is intermitent. It has been working in mine solid for a few days ok r ovrr a week now with no problems

It's strange that so many have had a problem with this. I have installed it on both the Broken Out rom and #2, and it's worked flawlessly.

Was your phone originally ZVB/C/D?

I ask, because I'm wondering if there was a hardware change/upgrade along the way that isn't documented somewhere?

Mine was originally ZVB. I have since upgraded to ZVD. But I haven't been able to get the mod to work. I have copied/flashed on multiple versions of #2.

If it works or doesn't work, what did your esteem start out as?...

Re read your message. Mine also says H/W 1.0.

Any thoughts as to what might be the difference? I believe we are all using the same downloads! Lol

installed as OP suggested, got the dreaded frame extraction error.

tried pretty much everything, clearing cache/data/etc etc, using the flashable version, rebooted millions of times, etc.

no luck, yet. boooooo!!!

edit: running Rom #2 v2.0
