A RIL is a Radio Interface Layer... it is to do with how the phone's operating system "talks" to the radio hardware of the phone. The right RIL for the radio you have would mean best possible performance.
I'd have run the ROM to see what the radio performace was like... you would then know if the performace is typical on that radio (you'd be able to compare the two at least). ... don't think it needs to "settle" so to speak
Atm, signal seems to be the same, if not a little worse. As you said, I'll let it run for a few days and see how it is.

Do I need a RIL? How long before everything settles?

go for it
if its worse, you can always go back to this one!
you've nothing to loose

very smart to fully charge.let us know how it goes

Sorry.
Well DURX said that you need to have lots o' power when flashing radios.... I assumed RUU's would be similar, especially if I'm in HBOOT.

as the Firefox underlines it for me...
I'll get you next time!!

having run the aahk, you should be radio s-off,and therefore should still be afterwards.
rooting the new software is as simple as installing the recovery as a PD98IMG file:
cwm-5.0.2.7-ace.zip
simply download, rename to just PD98IMG,place on root of sd card, boot to hboot, then let it flash. when its done reboot, and immediately remove PD98IMG from the sd card.
if you wish to root that software in the ruu and run it for a few days, all you need to do is then flash superuser 3.0.7 in recovery. alternately, you can go ahead and restore a backup,or you can flash a new rom.
you can do literally anything on an s-off device. so once youve run the aahk and become s-off and superCID,there is no need to run it again... unless you need it to turn s-on
also thot id point out that if you happen to want a GB sense rom,the newest unbranded sense 3.0 is actually a very nice rom.defiantely not bad to stay on for a few days![]()
