I have to admit its driving me crazy waiting to find out just what it is that we are going to find out. I also have to say I too had a dream last night and it was that they tricked us and did the ole bait and switch type thing where we all started buying the new SS but it turned out to be a kids toy. Looked pretty and all but didnt work a lick.

My mind has been on this stupid phone way too much, I am here to admit I am a cellphoneaholic.

Thanks for listening to my troubles. :)

Is that live stream link actually working for anybody? Im not getting anything
Are you asking about the webcast link on the home page of this thread? If so, it worked when all the keynote speeches were given, then they made announcement the keynote addresses were over for the day and then it went black.

I wish they would have streamed the unveiling ceremony of the Supersonic, since it's such an important event this year, but it looks like we'll have to get our details from the news sites.

I hope the stream the award ceremonies tomorrow too.

I would like to add to what bimmjo said: "Sprint is committed to WiMAX, but Sprint's decision to go with WiMAX isn't irreversible. The vast majority of Sprint's WiMAX investment can be converted to LTE, the 4G technology chosen by the three other national wireless carriers, if Sprint deems it necessary. WiMax and LTE are very close to each other. We're very committed to 4G, and we will follow the industry as it grows," Tarazi of Sprint said.

I've seen many comments about WiMAX and whether Sprint was taking the wrong turn. It hardly seems that investors in WiMAX, which include cable operators Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Bright House Networks, as well as tech giants Intel and Google could all be wrong and this answers that question officially.

What we're seeing from Sprint is a very aggressive push to get WiMAX deployed as rapidly as possible. That has become even more obvious this week and again today with the announcement of more markets for its planned 4G expansion, among them Los Angeles and Miami, plus Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City and St. Louis.

AT&T said they would be deploying LTE over the next 3 or 4 years and T-Mobile is expected to lag behind as well. Verizon hasn't even started to deploy LTE, but they said they would start this year. Because of its vastness, it's expected to take them 3 to 5 years to deploy LTE. A couple of weeks ago, Verizon did announce that they would have their first 4G phone by the middle of next summer. By then, Sprint should have their WiMAX network well built out and we'll probably be looking at Supersonic 2011 by then.

I just want to add to @billsmed's statement by saying that the WIMAX radio chip being used in the SS is (speculated) to be compatible with BOTH LTE and WiMax - so even if you did buy the SS and Sprint decides to switch over to LTE, all the configuration would be on their end and hardware wise you would still be ok

They're saying the HTC EVO 4G (Supersonic) won't be released until summer. That's a bit of a disappointment since we've been hearing within the next 2 weeks. I'll keep the homepage updated with information as we get it.

I'm not surprised by the summer date as it hasn't even passed through the FCC yet...more time equals more build up and hype through marketing too ;)

Look at the ad on the right!!! They changed the name

Engadget
Very sneaky of Sprint/HTC to do that. No wonder it was hard to find any info on this phone. Some one said it best the guys behind this thing should work for the CIA as secret as it was. Man, I love this thing. Haven't been this excited over a new phone for a while now.

Summer is gonna make me impatient but at least it gives me time to save up. Also my yearly upgrade comes up in June so maybe it's for the best.

(I said that with a straight face!)
