Full install instructions for any unlocked bootloader -

GooManager (free in the Play Store), menu, Install OpenRecoveryScript, say ok when asked, done!

New recovery installation may require visiting TWRP page, getting the img file or zip file, and following instructions for a fastboot or bootloader installation.

Installing via goo manager didn't work, is there another way to install? Should I rename it to PJ75IMG.zip and then boot into bootloader?

EDIT: Okay I got impatient and tried. I forgot that's how you're supposed to install recoveries, duh *facepalm*. So any people who are new or if you had a brain fart like me, the answer is yes. Rename it PJ75IMG.zip, boot into bootloader, hit yes to update.

This will work for S-OFF boot loaders, S-on not so much. ;)

If you are still rooted with S-on, you'll need to go the goo manager route. S-on won't allow boot loader flashes unless it's signed with HTC's secret key. :)

Oddly, GooManager does seem to not work for some, but it's the preferred method whether s-off or s-on unlock.

I used GooManager and flashed 2.2.0 - and I'm s-off unlocked.

worked great for me. now all we need is an app that can read our mind and theme ROMs the way we want them to with out us having to update all the old cools ones we want to port over to this phone :D

I read the description on this and did I understand correctly that this version does not allow you to mount USB Storage?

Great to see you over here and having so much fun with this phone.

What we really need is a recovery that will magically transform our favorite roms from the 4g over to this phone and work perfectly. :D

I can't find that...??

edit -

/facepalm - my bad :D

Now, to backup to your external sdcard, you don't muck about with mounting. Simply click on either the internal or external sd card choice and you're good to go. Way easy.

That sounds great, but did they break the usb ms toggle sort of feature?

"Device Specific Known Issues:

No USB storage in recovery (adb is working now though)"

That sounds great, but did they break the usb ms toggle sort of feature?

I have no idea what that's about.

I just went into my TWRP Mount menu, mounted external, it showed up for me as traditional USB storage. Ejected, unmounted, mounted internal, that showed for me as traditional USB storage as well.

The directories and file sizes made sense, I didn't try to xfer anything though - spaced testing that.

Sorry - I don't know what they're on about with that issue.

Let's ask. :)

It might be left over from a previous version, I am thinking.

Thanks for your help though! as always. :)

I'm sorry if this popped up somewhere else (I think it has, can't remember where) I'm rooted(perm, using regaw) and downloaded rom manager after it was suggested and I can no longer flash anything or even seem to do a factory reset after flashing the clockwork recovery. (once its gone, it will stay that way) I'm pretty new to all this and am having a great deal of fun learning (thanks to everyone here). any help will be GREATLY appreciated. thanks all!

Yeah, you can try GooManager, but I think that you will have to fastboot flash TWRP now, not sure. You can get fastboot using our Mini SDK, link is in the root sticky guide. I seem to recall the command is -

fastboot flash recovery (file name)

Double check me on that (anyone).

Follow the link in the OP here to get the right file.

Or stick with CWM. CWM is an either / or to TWRP.

I think that Rom Manager isn't your friend on this.

That is indeed the correct command. It's what I've used. And IMHO Rom Manager stinks. It's so much better to learn to do things via recovery. You have much more control and problems are much more easily fixed.

Thanks EM and wind. Finally got Goomanager to DL from play store and everything's fixed now. Running mean Rom now and have TWRP working correctly. Thanks again guys

I'm diggin the new version, really like the built in nandroid naming.

Wipes and flashes fine, everything works so far. Solid! :D

I had issues with restoring nandroid on the newest one. I downloaded it via goomanager. Each time I'd nand restore it would just restart the recovery half way through, and then since it wasn't a full restore, the system wouldn't boot and i'd have to flash a new ROM.

Downloading from the site and installing via bootloader worked just fine.

I downloaded the PJ75IMG from their site and flashed it through the bootloader. Works great.

I'll have to load up Goomanager one of these days and play around. Get a better feel for the way it works. :)
