As far as I understand, this is Samsung's update of ICS, NOT ICS as seen on the Nexus. They will make things look as similar as possible in order not to confuse consumers who aren't tech savvy.

But then, I may be wrong!

Many phone companies have integrated the standard look of their phone eg: xperia look, htc sense into the ICS design..lockscreen pattern may change..but the basic functionalities remain unchanged :)

Hello and welcome to Android Forums firebiker! :)

I believe you CSC code should read, "I9100OJPKJ1".

In which case, see post #307 for your options if you cannot use Kies to update. Flashing an update to your original, out-of-the-box, firmware via Odin will not invalidate your warranty.

However, your vendor, "may" have changed your firmware, prior to your purchase which could explain your inability to update vis Kies. See under, "ICS is available for my code but I cannot update", in post #1.

Hi,

first of: thanks for the enormous list and the updates!

Second:

I can confirm that ICS is FINALLY available for

PRO = BELGIUM

(Just installed it over Kies)

You are running a multi-nation code covering Russia and the Ukraine. CSC OXE is upgradable to ICS. If you don't want to update to this, then on sammobile there is an update to 2.3.6. You could either flash it yourself or take it to a samsung repair shop and ask them to flash it for you.

Hi! My SGS2 CSC is I9100OJCKI1, and till now Kies still tells me that i am using the latest firmware. Any idea if ICS is avail for this CSC yet, or its a problem with my Kies software?

You are on a 2.3.4 from South Africa. There is an Update to 4.0.3 available on Sammobile (see #1).

You can flash it yourself using Odin or bring it into a Samsung repair shop.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums dpeerthy! :)

ICS for CSC code, OJC, has been out for a couple of months, as per post #2 of this thread.

As to why you may not be able to get it, and what you can do, see post #1.

New ICS upgrades for...

TCE = MEXICO

UWA = DOMINICAN REP.

OXX = MACEDONIA

CHO = CHILE

OJP = UNITED ARAB EMIRAT.

OJP = EGYPT

JPL = SAUDI ARABIA

Further updates to already released ICS, for...

DBT = OPEN GERMANY

PRO = BELGIUM/ LUXEMB.

LUX = LUXEMBOURG

3IE = IRELAND (THREE)

OJP = IRAQ

SWC = SWITZERLAND

See posts #1 and #2 for more details and to check updates or, alternatively, connect your phone to the Samsung Kies, PC firmware.

This thread is great, i have been following it for some time now waiting for my CSC code to be in the list for an update (now OJP is updated to ICS). I have the following question/issue now though because I didn't see it already answered.

When I check my CSC on the phone by using the *#1234# method I get a CSC of OJP (I9100OJPKF2). But when I connect by my SGS2 to Kies it said that by CSC is XSG [it says CSC:KF2 (XSG)] and I get the typical message that it can't be supported through Kies. I know that XSG is currently not on the ICS list in Post no 2. My real questions are what is my real CSC? And why does the phone say one thing and Kies say another.

I bought my phone from one of those used mobile shops on the UK high street. Could they have done something to cause the mismatch. Is there something I can do in order to fix the issue so I can update to ICS?

Note I also checked the other CSCs that i could change my phone to using *#272*Device IMEI#, and OPJ was not on the list. And none of the other CSCs have been updated to ICS from this list.

Flattery will get you everywhere. :)

It would appear that your phone's CSC code was originally XSG, (United Arab Emirates), and has, at some stage, had the OJP firmware flashed on to it for various reasons outlined in post #1.

I bought my phone from one of those used mobile shops on the UK high street. Could they have done something to cause the mismatch. Is there something I can do in order to fix the issue so I can update to ICS?

It could have been changed by anyone in its chain of ownership. It does mean that you will not be able to update using Kies, see post #1. Even if you changed your firmware back to XSG you would still not be able to update to ICS as it has not been released for that CSC code.

Therefore, you should use Odin and flash the latest OJP firmware to your phone as described under, "My firmware is not eligible for ICS yet but I want it now!", in post #1.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Zeinynet! :)

There are a number of reasons that you will receive that message when connecting to Kies. See under, "ICS is available for my code but I cannot update", in post #1.

If you wish to update to ICS for the OJP firmware then you will need to flash it using Odin and the method described in post #1 under the heading, "My firmware is not eligible for ICS yet but I want it now!".

If you ere using the instructions and video in post #1 and downloaded your firmware from SamMobile, it comes as a 'zip file which needs to be extracted once. This will give you a .tar .zip flle which is placed in PDA. This one .tar .zip file contains all the files you need. I'm guessing that you have further extracted that .tar .zip file.

Hi Ironass,

It is indeed Four files inside the zip, I even downloaded directly from SAMfirmware side as well.

Any how thanks for your support, I was having battery drain issue and it seems to me improving a lot with use so it is useable for me as of now.

TIA
