So I'm not sure if this is the best place to talk about this but I need to vent! You guys have always made me feel better about things. So I have been battling a 2 year long painkiller addition. At first it was for legit pain but in the past year my leg has healed but the ocs stayed. I've been so used to living high on oxy.... Anyways I was ready to move on with my life so I went cold turkey 4 days ago. Let me tell you today is the first day I feel human. Yesterday and the day before was pure hell. The ONLY thing that kept me together was working on my next rom for all of you. So thank you flash junkies!! Your need for new roms helped me kill my need for opiods so I can stop being a junkie!! Again I know af is not the place for this but any support I can get helps my mental state of mind. The hard part is over as of today. In light of all this my next rom will be named borai mod aka the clean rom :) I think android to me is more then just an os . Its motivation! All of use are here motivated to better your phones.
 
Congrats Bo! Addictions can be tough to break. I need to break my addiction of cigarettes so I can continue my career as a fighter, so ill use this for motivation :) congratulations again Bo and keep pushing out good shit bro
 
Good for you bro....if you ever think about going back just think about honey buns or something....but yeah it takes alot of willpower to break an addiction so super awesome job :D
 
Thank you. Just what I needed to hear. Thankful I have chosen to do this so relapse is a little less likely (not saying it couldn't). I was ready for this. Never had a Drug problem much intill I got hurt (snowboarding) besides casual drinking, Medical buds ect. to any mods thank you for not closing this thread :)
 
My phone number numerous 678 734 5071. I did the same thing for years until it ruined my life. I went cold turkey from methadone which is a 30 day withdrawal. I know secrets to make it as painless as possible. At the end of it i can make it so you felt almost nothing. Shoot me a text, i know how to make this work. I was also a pharmacology major, so trust what i say. I can be of great assistance. I know how you feel
 
Congrats on beginning the process to get clean. I'd highly recommend you consult a doctor (not the one who prescribe the painkillers) and let them know what you're doing. Cold turkey can have some very significant effects on you. Good Luck!

Great to know im not alone. my fiance has been helping very much she took a few days off work. I am lucky its day 4 already. I feel 10 times better then yesterday! (still sick thou) Ive seen alot on the Internet about some legal remedies but will mos def shoot you a text if i have any questions but i think the worst is over (I cant even begin to imagine kicking dones.)

I thought id show you guys some eye candy i took of the rom. Seriously working on this thing is the only thing that takes my mind off of what is at hand.

Its not finished but its getting there. i fixed wifi and mms so everything is working now. just need to finish the theme and settings apk. The zip is only 77 mbs so its super striped. based on aosp 2.3.6 for the prevail (thanks hroark13)

Computers, android, and modding in general is my crack, I use to be a big meth head 10+ years ago, so I can relate all to well what you are going thru. ;)
 
I'll tell you, 48mg of Imodium will make you feel worlds better. Won't block you up, won't get you high. Makes it very manageable. Don't take pm pain medicine.

Ive seen first hand how hard that can be. my fiances mom and dad had a real big problem with that when i first met her. stuff is everywhere in San Jose.

^Btw EricJoneckis already got my self some yesterday. stuff it a life saver!

Np :) you should give it a shot. I felt the same way last week and it has proven to be true hell. But being on the tail end of wd I feel its almost over. I wouldnt say cold turkey is the best way to go about it but i know how tempting weening off can be even though its the best way to go about it.

I think im going to give it a shot. I just feel scared when I think about it.

Lol. This is funny, because I've also been privately working on porting that aosp prevail 236 to the admire. Looks like you beat me to it. :-) haha. Good show!
Can't wait to see what yours looks like. :-)

But wait, didn't you just release yours the other day on the Vitality page, also showing it can be used on the Metro PCS Admire? I have it on my nTelos Admire and have had no issues so far :)

Nah, that 236 was from the generic Samsung R720 upgrade. I nabbed the system image from the executable and built off that.
