Root JoyMod 1.0

Phone has been sitting for a while now. Hours I'm sure. Nothing. Still got the boat picture on most icons. Rebooted, thinking it would take care of things. Didn't.

Maybe I should try switching back and forth from another launcher?

EDIT: Installed Zeam. Didn't work. Apparantly the icon picture that I get is the default icon for Espier Launcher. This is perplexing. Nobody else is having this issue. My dowload is not corrupt (md5 match). I wiped the phone... Not sure what's causing this. Grrr...

EDIT 2: I formatted my sd card externally. Then put it back into the Prevail and repartitioned it. Got rid of the swap that was there at first. Installed CTMod2.5. Booted up to home screen. Went back into CWM and flashed Joy. This time the icons came through fine.

Problem solved. Once you have 3g working through reboots I'll put service back on this phone. Right now it doesn't have service. Thanks a bunch dude. This this is awesome!
 
I tried to install Weatherbug, when I go to run the program it crashes. Any idea on who to get it to work :hmmmm2::hmmmm2:
 
kristopher5823. Small caveat.

On the lock screen the date is written out as "Sunday,July29". Is it possible to insert spaces in between?

Also each of the icons have labels. Some of the labels are so long that there's "..." inserted in the middle. Possible to reduce the size of the text so that it is written out whole or maybe remove the icon labels altogether?

Are you using Zeam? Or Experia Launcher?

I think Weather bug wants to place a widget on the home screen at first launch. Maybe Experia isn't allowing it to and thus its crashing. If you're using Zeam that theory is out and I'm also out of ideas. :D

Works great, customizable, plenty of info to add to widget (battery temp, moonphase, sunrise & set, seperate weather page, Numbers can be configured to launch apps, just to name a few) and it doesn't ask for obnoxious permissions like record audio & make phone calls, like weather channel app and a few others. Also the Prevail stock News & Weather app widget also works and I personally really like it.

Go into your APN. Make sure the radio button on the right is green/selected. If nothing comes up then select the text Boost Mobile, as if you're going to edit the APN settings.

Do not edit anything just back out if it. Presto!
 
So I just failed to install this. My phone was stock Saturday, rooted to CTMod yesterday following the root guide for dummies (except I didn't partition my SD, as I swap SDs often). Today after flashing this the phone got stuck on the boot screen, so I restored. I really wanted to flash this or CyanogenMod as I dislike ctmod. Do I have to partition my SD?

I go to Settings<Operators<Access Point Names but then its just a blank page

You do not have to partition your SD...but as is...the rom will try to install data on the ext.

Any chance of us getting a version that isnt chinese?... lol... I also noticed as someone else pointed out in the lock screen the day, month, and date is pushed together. Is there any way to fix the data cutting out after reboot?

yeah i am working on that i have to decompile the framework jar from the joy os and decompile the framework jar from the cm7 rom i used as a base and copy the cdma folders from the stock to the joy os then recompile well its samili and back samili but its pretty much the same as compile and decompile just i have to get it running on my new computer still have some stuff to install on it but it is on the way the only Chinese i see in on the notification screen in that case go to settings/ other then in cm7 settings go to interface/then status bar tweaks and check compact carrier label quick way to get rid of it while i work on it
 
3G working at boot thanks to the.emilio over at xda for telling me how to do it so no need to go through the settings to set it Updated op with new Rom also made a hot fix so you can just flash over JoyMod1.0 so u dont have to reinstall the whole rom

So I should flash joyos, then katokernnoext? Because the kernel instructions say to make sure you have a rom that boots before flashing kato, and joy doesn't boot yet..
 
Well installing the Kernel No ext didn't help as it now boot loops on the android with a cane logo, which is further than its ever gone before. I guess im stuck with ctmod

just let it run first boot takes awhile

Edit: ill upload a version of joyMod with the stock kernel that isnt overclocked so u can get it to boot once then just after boot reboot into recovery then flash the kernel
 
How long should I have waited? It just felt link it was bootlooping rather than slowly progressing because it kept switching from the apple to the android , and I counted the bobbing of the mustache and it was different every time it reappeared, leading me to think that I wasn't staring at a boot animation intended to show an apple android loop

Edit: Im running baseband fe16 fyi

Baseband doesn't matter in uploading a version with stock kernel I would wipe flash the stock one then reboot once its running flash kato if you want to overclock

Edit: question did you wipe after trying to boot it the first time when it never went past the android splash screen? if u didnt then flashed the other kernel it will cause boot loops
 
OK thanks. So from what I described waiting was futile right? Because it should have stayed on the Android instead of constantly reverting to the Apple, no?

no thats fine lol anyway make sure u wipe everything atleaste 2 times then flash this JoyMod1.1 stock kernel.zip reboot once booted up and running boot back into recovery and flash the kato cm7 no sd ext if u want to over clock
 
OK 20% downloading. Im doing everything from the prevail like a champ. I will be heading to lunch giving it plenty of time to boot
