Dummy phone is a good sign, at least VZW can acknowledge the phone exists. Releasing it on March 27th would be just icing on the cake at this point.

If they have received a dummy phone, the release must be sooner rather than later. However, it could be the middle of April. As long as it releases sometime in April I'll be OK. I don't feel like waiting till June or something.

Those are my feelings exactly...

I also hope they aren't going to call this the vx6300 or something incredibly stupid.

I'm going out of town on Sunday. I wonder how safe it would be to buy the phone on Saturday and leave on Sunday. Would my BB still work if the Inc bonked out? Maybe I should just wait til I get back.

Are you kidding??? Of course it's not that old piece of crap. Come on guys, get real.

When I saw the youtube video the whole time he kept saying "it's bigger than all the recent phones" etc. I thought it was a review of something recent but targeted as a cheap phone for like $30 at first...

The fact that Montana had to send me a message and ask me what "6300" might mean, tells me that there must be something to this story. If that HTC rep is referring to the "mystery box" as the "6300 box" then there has to be some validity to this whole story. Hopefully his friend that works at that Verizon store will give him some more information later on tonight. Hopefully they opened the box and his friend got to see what was in it.

Sweet a new phone for Verizon....

Samsung debuts U820 QWERTY slider at CTIA, no one notices

By Joseph L. Flatley posted Mar 25th 2010 3:11PM

Not everything can be an Android smartphone, fellas... sometimes you just need an unobtrusive design, maybe some social networking connectivity, and a modest price point. That's what the Samsung U820 says to the world. Barely a blip on our radar when we came across the FCC filing at the beginning of the year, this QWERTY slider features a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel still camera with video capture, headset jack, MicroSD card slot, browser, the Communities social networking widget, and for your UI (dis)satisfaction, TouchWiz 2.0. Available at the end of April 30 in the $80 - $100 range on Verizon.

Seriously... wtf....

I hope that when they open the box, the Incredible pops out as a little midget in a cell phone costume and laughs at everyone in the store as it runs out with the real Incredible phone in his hand only to drop it into the sewage drain after tripping and falling.

My hopes are up.

I have to say that I lost a little faith after no announcement during CTIA...I've been waiting, like most, for quite some time. I waited and waited for the Omnia II, thinking that Vzw was finally going to get a phone I'd love to have. So the Incredible is the 2nd phone I've been waiting and waiting for, just don't want another Omnia II to happen...
Reading out resislient everyone is, and new info from MM, has renewed my vigor with for this phone.

Thanks Everyone!!!!

Do dummy phones often go up on display in stores before a phone is actually released?

(Sorry, little knowledge of previous phone releases)
