Root Progress of the admire

Not sure what you're getting at with the title of this thread. Are you hiring? Do you plan to pay people for contributions? Moved from Android Lounge to Admire all things root.

Lol I'm not gonna lie Im losing all hope for this device .... I just want to see a lot more done to this device
well req is perfecting his CM7 build, have spoke of doing CM9 so things are being done for it, just need to be patient. But you also need to realize its a lil pofs that not many devs will want to mess with. ;)

That I know.... but I still think we need a lot more devs to join the team in case when one is down another one comes like flash.;)

to low key a device, like the Ascend, only had 4 at its peak, and 2 of us were just learning Android at the time. lol

You know, I was thinking about it, and you're not the only one to mention that req0 is still working on his CM7. If he gets it working, is someone else going to post links here or what because I noticed he was banned and obviously he can't do it here. Also, do you know his progress on it?

Well hes purdy much got it all much better than it was, but still lacks the camera (well actually has it working w/o hwaccel, but not with it), and I've not asked about mms. I'm sure he'll allow me to post at least links to where he decides to post it tho. ;)

I know this phone is low end but playful you pull alot of weight around here I know ive gotten some performance gains just from changing the uphold and downhold thresholds in set cpu advanced settings with conservative scaling and im no dev not even close a million miles from you get my point if someone would work on performance first all the pretty stuff like themes could come next a really strong kernal would be great my experience with stock ++ seems lacking no disrespect to its creator

hes like me and works with src ;)

Got a question for you, Playful, and other devs that might be listening. I am thinking of taking a 32 month course on Mobile Development online to get into developing for Android and iOS, among other devices. Do you think this would be a good idea or would this be something better taken in a classroom? What are your thoughts?

depends on the classes, I dont do this for the money so I've not looked into what kinda of market is out there for it.

Well, in retrospect, I'm thinking it might be better to self teach this stuff. I love being a mechanic and I can see working on cars the rest of my life, but I also love technology. This course, on one hand, would give me various backgrounds and skills to be.successful at it, but on the other hand I have a wife and three kids, two of them being 5mo old twins, so my free time is limited and I would rather not start something like school only to have it fall apart because of my personal life.

Do, with that said, lets pretend I am at a book store and want to start off teaching myself Android development, what kinds of book would you guys recommend I look for?
