Im sorry, but what new information are you referring to? I dont remember MM relaying any new information about the phone besides a CTIA announcement which didnt hold up. Please no more posts like this. Some of us dont believe his story, and some of us do. Lets just drop it.

i think you missed the point of the orig post, this forum was a great place with a friendly helpful atmosphere and all info came from speculation, hear say, rumors, and leaks.. this place tore apart that data and became the internets hub where everyone else reposted info with/from the the hard work of everyone here.. somewhere along the line we started tearing at each other instead of the data and the attitude here changed, we got off topic etc..

we just need to get this INCREDIBLE forum/thread back to its former glory and be one big happy family again :D

Well at least we arent the only ones grumbling:

Some would say Google Nexus One is one of the coolest Android smartphones selling these days, and while not selling like hot cakes (yet) the arrival of the Nexus One in Verizon stores remains a mystery until date. It is a question which we have been posing to ourselves for a long time now and the stance of the VZW customers is also the same, but Big Red somehow seems unmoved by the queries.
Verizon-Nexus-One-Mystery.jpg

CTIA 2010 was one place where the hopefuls were thinking to get an answer but, Verizon tried to please them with the integration of Skype and nothing more.

The people anticipating the arrival of the biggest Android device until date are obviously annoyed with VZW turning a blind eye to them. It is noteworthy that VZW is itself at loss where two US carriers are already offering the handset when it is in stupendous demand.
It is time that the Nexus One release date should be announced by VZW as they have another big Android handset, HTC Incredible, also lined up for a future release. If VZW lingers on with the release date announcement for sometime later in the year, it will slash Nexus One sales as users will then prefer the fresh-in-stock HTC Incredible.

You guys all have better phones than me, I have a Samsung Gleam!!!! One of the best Flip Phones on the Planet!!! Great Reception, I can call or text message anywhere i go.... But i won't pay for Interent on that piece of Crap! lol It has been a great phone and lasted well, I can usually get 2 days of battery life out of it too, which doesn't seem to be an option on 90% of smart phones these days. Thats another vote for The Devour, it has great specs for Battery. (Almost 5 hours of straight talk time!) I just pray for your guys sake that the Incredible has a great battery life. To me that is as big of a features as a snapdragon processor, because if you can't last a day without charging, you might as well drag around your laptop for internet, as opposed to being always charging the darn thing.

.. the problem that some of us have is the nexus one is unobtainable due to our family plans so the incredible is our only shot at modern glory(droid aside).. g

???

I don't like the sound of this. Guess I missed something.
I'm on a family plan. Unless someone can enlighten me quickly .. I guess I better look into this (don't want to go off topic).

We don't know for sure that the N1 won't be an option for those with family plans. That's just more speculation. It's up to Verizon.

I assume that phone uses 2g, so the N1 is rated at 10 hours (7 on 3g).

The T-Mobile distribution model doesn't allow Family plan members to get the N1. This hasn't yet been confirmed that it won't be allowed on Verizon, so until the N1 is released, we won't know for sure that family plan subscribers won't be able to get it.

There is another VZW Twitter handle @HeadlinesVZ which IMO should be getting bombarded with Tweets about the INC as well.

Even Better 1x..... which probably is 2g.... I can text fast on it but i have no desire to use the internet. I have used it a time or two to check the weather, but it was so small on my maybe 1.3 inch screen that it just wasn't worth it.

The end of an era...We pourz one out for him:( It really is sad that people can't be more cordial.
It's more pathetic that some on this forum are in such dire need for acceptance and mutual admiration that they go to great lengths to conjure up stories in order to achieve that end, while taking advantage of the blind and gullible that are so desperate for any positive information on this phone that they take the bait hook, line and sinker.

The one thing I've discovered the past few months is that this really isn't an "open" public forum as some would have you believe, but a therapy and self-help group for a select few individuals who think they're more credible and better than everyone else simply because of their post count. This forum should be about the constructive dissemination of circumstantial and factual evidence regarding the specs and details of this phone, whether they be positive or negative, all personal feelings aside.

If all of the regulars here care about is having a "feel good" forum where we all pat each other on the back whenever there is so much as a whisper of this phone's existence, whether the report be true or not, then setup a private forum where only those sharing the same beliefs are invited. Because if you can't accept someone constructively challenging someone else's claims, regardless of how many times they've posted, then you shouldn't be taking part in a public forum. Better yet, take it to a Google Wave so you all can sing Kum-Baya togehter and have a few laughs along the way. :D

I'm here to find leads on when this mystery phone may actually show up on Verizon's network so I can make plans as it concerns my voice/data carrier and next smartphone purchase. Although I've only recently begun to post, I've been lurking here for months. I actually liked the old Passion forum better, as it seems people there were more open to opinions of varying ilk and constructive criticism. This crowd only seems interested in playing Fantasyland as opposed to cutting through the noise and fluff to really gain true insight on the status of this phone.

If everyone agrees the phone is coming soon then why waste so much time and energy here trying to find "solid" information on it? Why not just kick back and wait for it to come out? And if no one's claims or contentions are subject to challenge, or just the so-called "regulars" aren't, then let's just take everyone's reports and stories as gospel so we are all even more confused by the conflicting reports than we are now?

When push comes to shove, few, to none of us knows anyone here. I could give a rat's ass how many times someone posts. It lends nothing to their credibility. Actions to me always speaks louder than words and there is so much contradiction in this forum it's hard to tell the posers from the reputable. I'm sure there's a good possibility some seemingly nice posters here could be pedophiles in secret, but how would any of us really know? As mom said, never judge a book by it's cover, as you may not like some of the chapters contained inside.

Anyways, that's my rant for the day. Flame away if you'd like. I really don't care, because I have a life outside of this forum that's more fulfilling. I'll continue to lurk and comment from time to time and hopefully one day soon they'll be some reliable leads as it concerns the release of this phone. Seeing how I've survived the Passion/Dragon, Bravo/Desire and now Incredible debacle this long I figure a few more weeks won't hurt.

BTW, to those who say I have nothing of value to contribute; I've been periodically checking on the three local Verizon stores in my area since December asking for information on the Incredible and ADR6300 and Passion/Dragon before that. That said, I typically get the same response and dumb looks as most of you do. So what's the point of me posting that? It just adds to the clutter and noise already on here, as far as I'm concerned. Same as the folks who report that Testman is down seemingly everyday. "No, really, it's down again? Wow, what a surprise!" ;)

Because I'm not chummy with any of the store employees or managers, nor do I know any corporate employees or friends of corporate employees of VZW or HTC, I'm not a good candidate for uncovering information on this phone. That's what I rely on others here to do who have those connections. So don't expect much from me other than "thanks" when I perceive something of value to have been posted.

Ciao for now, everyone. Let's hope for better things and findings in the future!

totally agree. that's how i felt ...ended up "settling" for a droid (which has grown on me, btw).

anyway .. if you walk into verizon now, the devour is their baby. pffft.
sad.

i'm going to verizon tomorrow to haggle thru a couple errors on my bill/service change. i'm going to inquire (as I always do), but I'm sure all I'm going to get is "hey, check out this phone. the latest and greatest. the devour".

no thanks.

..... cricket sounds at verizon. :(

Don't think that they're purposely holding back information- trust me, the only person in a Verizon store who MIGHT have even a hint of what new phones are coming out, or when, would be the store manager. There are very few employees who, like me, actually do their research, patrol the forums, etc. for new phone info.. So when they tell you they don't know anything, 95% of the time, it's the truth. Most employees have no idea what phone is next to be launched until usually about 4 weeks before, which is when they send out a training for the device, spec sheets, etc. Like I said in an earlier post, one of the 4 area presidents was in our store for a visit this week- she was rocking the Incredible, and that was the first any of us had seen it, and only me and a couple other employees had even heard about it. She said late April/early May, but personally I'd tack on another 2 weeks so as to not give false high expectations...
Take it for what it's worth:cool:

In my experience, its often the guys with the fewest posts who come up with the real information.

People who work on confidential projects or operate under NDAs don't typically spend their their daily free time posting on message boards related to their technical field. Its a career-limiting move, you see.

What are all the VZW Twitter handles so I can bomard all of them about the Incredible?

P.S. I have the Dare and I hate it... on my second one becuase the touch screen stopped working. The screen is starting to act up again like my old one, so I'll be needing a new one soon and I just got my NE2.

This is incredibly frustrating...

I'd be fine with a late April/early may release. I just want Verizon to formally acknowledge that it's coming.

That would be nice. I'll need something from them to talk me down from buying the N1 as soon as it gets announced. Assuming the N1 is out first.
