The TP2 is a cool phone, but iits not an android, so if you care about something like GPS, realize you'll be paying extra (on top of the $30 data plan) for VZ Navigator.

I assumed he/she was aware of this and I mainly wrote my response to his/her specific questions. I would gladly answer any others he/she may ask.

If I have to wait until May for the Incredible......I will just wait the extra month and get the rumored iphone on VZW if that exists. This whole android experience, so far, is leaving a bad taste in my mouth already. But then again, I have had to hang out and wait for VZW in the past, so maybe I should just chalk this up to one fact: Verizon Sucks When it Comes to Launching New Hardware!!!! Instead of VZW having a finger on the pulse of its customers, it has it up their asses.

I like this idea a lot. BUT we need to start sending emails to the right people. We have to hit up corporate, not ignorant CSR's. I want to start calling them again too. Not the CSR, but the Big Shots.

Yeah i agree we gotta send more emails to the right people and just make sure the email subject sound really important :)

And don't threaten to switch to sprint for the EVO they won't care since the Incredible will probably be released before it anyways. I am just gona type up an email threatening to switch to the iphone tomorrow if it doesn't get announced by tomorrow.

priceless. and true.

It's more pathetic that some on this forum are in such dire need for acceptance and mutual admiration that they go to great lengths to conjure up stories in order to achieve that end, while taking advantage of the blind and gullible that are so desperate for any positive information on this phone that they take the bait hook, line and sinker.

<snip>

Ciao for now, everyone. Let's hope for better things and findings in the future!

Yep, this forum really needs a thumbs down button.

I just emailed the of CEO of VZW, but it was through the website, so IDK if it will go directly to him. Probably not...does anyone know where we can find their direct emails?

VZW seems to be suffering from a lack of clear thinking on their Android strategy.
Exhibits:
1. The recent extended delays in rolling Android V2.1 to the Droid user base is pi$$ing off their existing Android user community. [#16587 above]
2. They participated in Google's announcement that the N1 would be available in CDMA form exclusively[?] on VZWs' network, but a senior VZW has recently been quoted as trying to walk that back by disavowing any VZW commitment to launch. While this is technically correct [VZW won't be selling the CDMA N1], they obviously need to approve it for their network before Google can launch it.
3. Assuming the reportage is correct, and the Inc is actually somewhere in VZW's release plans, then there's a small problem. The Inc is so clearly superior to the N1 CDMA that a conflict of interest between Google and VZW is on the cards. The PR News survey [http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/03/23/the-htc-incredible-or-nexus-one-on-verizon-your-decision/ ] shows 78% of VZW users preferring the Inc over the CDMA N1.

Looks like VZW has some clean-up to do if they are to gain market share via their Android strategy. They've spent lots of marketing bux on the Droid launch, but their on-going strategy appears to be ad-hoc at best.

I don't think it will be before April 1st. I am now waiting on the 22nd for the CFO call from vz,vzw. They usually mention new stuff on those calls.

based on all the TV commercials and all the comments from CSR's, I wouldn't be surprised if VZW would be happy to just rest on its laurels with the DROID. I don't think they are even trying. Woooo number 2. You go, VZW. Celebrate Mediocrity!!

I was thinking . . .

The other networks are like a super-hot chick that is really vain and superficial. She lures you in with her flashy good looks and glamorous phones (EVO, iPhone) but once you date her you find that she is empty inside and devoid of any coverage.

Verizon, OTOH, is like the fat, ugly chick who washes your clothes, keeps your house clean, gives you back massages, cooks you delicious home-cooked meals and makes sure you never go hungry for 3g coverage. She also tells you to save some space for the rich LTE-flavored 4g pie she made you for dessert. You just have to put a paper bag over her Droid Eris face until you can save up enough money for an Incredible make-over.

Well, the problem with that is it's been going on ever since the iphone came out. It's not like they are going to hear anything new.

I agree that we should email and contact the right people at Verizon, Although I love the company. I have been with T-mobile, Sprint, Nextel before it joined sprint, Cingular before it joined ATT, and ATT before and after the merge.

Verizon has treated me the best out of all these providers, in terms of customer service. Best coverage, without saying. Always lacked in hardware though, and I'm starting to get fed up with it like many.

Any email we send should not be JUST about the incredible, or adr6300, or nexus one. It should be about releasing hardware that seems behind.

I'm sick of Verizon trying to Catch up on it's hardware. We need something NEW and INOVATIVE, not the trend from last year.

Beautiful analogy.

22nd? Is it just me or is it March 26th right now? If you mean April 22nd you are patient beyond reproach.
April 22nd lol..
I work for VZ and got a email last week saying that is when Frank is giving his quarterly update. People are allowed to ask questions but guys don't count on me asking anything lol.

I also have all the correct email addy's but you wont see me post them.

VZW is in first place. Their reputation is built on their network, not their device. They can allow other companies to take chances, and copy them when something works.

If the nexus one had gotten released on VZW first, all of those broken screens, multitouch issue, dropping of data connect, etc. would have reflected poorly on VZW, and cost them more money in support issues.

So, from a business standpoint, they have no reason to be cutting edge. They make their money being risk adverse, learning from other's mistakes. They only release something when they know it is safe to.. when it is sure to sell, when the problems are worked out, and when you guys are hungry..
