Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

My camera is too old to support it.

Ah, I wondered if there were models that it didn't support. That's really a shame. On the 60D, it supports live view so I can use my Nexus 7 as the live view screen (rarely use live view on the camera, but a neat feature still). Has several options for time lapse photography and such as well. Can control modes, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, etc. Very nice app and worth the money if your camera supported it.

BTW...sounds like a good excuse to upgrade ;)

Honestly I have no use for upgrading - the camera I have now is older than my first camera. I currently use a 5DMK1 and I absolutely love it. The FF is killer and I don't think I will ever use the video portion on the MK2 and can't really justify the cost of it. I'd rather buy better lenses for the MK1 honestly.

Yeah its neat though - I've seen it used on 60D/5D3.

Yeah, I would love to have a full frame. Maybe in a few years we'll upgrade again to the 5DMKII. I've used the video on the 60D a few times and it's nice, but nothing we use on a consistent basis.

Really like the S-Pen functionality on the Note. Nothing I would really use because I'm not a creative type, but I can see artists/graphic designers using it and even kids having fun with it.

Gizmodo doesn't like the Galaxy Note 10.1, I'm shocked.

If Apple made it they would consider it the second coming.
Ehhh Engadget had mixed feelings about it too.

I can't believe they only went with a 1,280x800 display though. C'mon.

This thing is a presentation machine! Think of all the stuff you could do with this during a presentation with a wireless connection to a projector.

Morning friends!

I woke up this morning craving new technology....my poor paycheck haha..

anyways, has anyone ever done any home automation projects with their smartphone? are there any inexpensive options out there?

I have done "small" home automation stuff.

For example my PC goes to sleep at 9AM every morning when idle for 30 minutes so that it doesn't shut down when I am working from home. When I get home and connect to my Wifi network my phone sends a Wake on Lane packet to my computer so by the time I am changed and stuff it is on and waiting for me.

Look into the Arduino community. I see lots of automation projects going on there.

That's pretty awesome.

Evening everyone!
Has anyone tried Earth Balance spreads? Basically a Whole Foods version of Smart Balance. Wife is trying to eat healthier, as am I. Will give it a shot with tomorrow's bagel.
