Eris not getting 2.1 today

So what happen to the 26th... No update. Im so mad... can we stop building hype over this couldnt even focus today
 
I'm very happy with the 2nd 2.1 leak, and definitely happy that I didn't hold out for the OTA. That would have been really frustrating.

However, to quote Caddyman:

Im posting this one to stop it all and plus the only reason why i want the official 2.1 update was so that way when i go in the store to get my BETTER THEN ERIS MOTO DROID i dont have to explain why i put the Leaked update on there

Ohh and does the leaked update void any of my warranties

This doesnt make any sense. So you are saying you are returning your Eris for the Moto Droid?

And it depends on who you talk to on here to say it voids your warranties. Do a search and it will come up.

A little early to be tipsy, no? I mean I can join you and post some nonsensical stuff with the best of them, but at least wait until the sun goes down.

Never, ever purchase, accept as a gift or steal such a device again.

im bout to just go in and swap it because i can't mount the phone because of the cheap replacement that they are trying to say that i damagaed all because the pins are bent thats some B.S.
 
Just download 2.1 Leak and you will be happy i promise..... i waited until tuesday to do it and now that it is FRIDAY and they stil dont have the "offical" release, i can sayi am that much happier i deceided to get the LEAKED verison....JUST GET IT AND DONT BE SCARED!!!!

On my fourth eris and i called them a week after i got the replacement saying that i am unable to mount the phone but it can charge. they are saying that i have to go threw my insurance because they suspect foul play involved... like really do they think that i mount my phone everyday. all i did was pop my SD card in and left the house SMH.. i didnt even sync my ipod once a month
 
The 2.1 leak is right there. If you're going to still ignore that and bitch and whine about the OTA, you need to stop making threads about it, because no one gives a flying **** anymore about how much time you've wasted on forums looking this stuff up.

I have the feeling they don't understand what you problem(s) is/are.

Alrite so now that ive vented and calmed down who was it that said that the 2.1 was coming this week for Droid and Eris??? But it will come soon i will get my droid yall will be happy and so will i.
 
What on Earth ARE you going on about? 4th Eris... Bent pins.... Cheap replacement.... Has "leak".... Better than Eris, Droid....

A long time ago (i.e., several months ago), HTC and Verizon (at separate times, IIRC) said that Eris users would have an upgrade to a newer version of Android (later confirmed as 2.1) in the first quarter of 2010. That's it, basically. We are nearing the end of the first quarter. It is quite evident that HTC and Verizon are in the process of testing 2.1 somehow, but there has been no official announcement of an upgrade date. (My guess is that there likely will not until the actual update is pushed.) I also doubt that either HTC or Verizon is all that eager to meet a artificial Q1 deadline unless they are absolutely sure that the update is solid enough to support officially. I'd bet that they would rather provide the update in Q2 when they are sure it's solid than provide something with some issues that would cause support headaches just to have it out this month.

Other than that, anything else has been guess and speculation. (Well, there is some guess and speculation in that paragraph above as well.)
 
Not to add to the confusion in this thread but, who said it was coming out today? as far as I know, there is no release date as of yet.

That is what I would like to know. I read an article that said the GSM Hero would get 2.1 on April 26th, but I have not heard or seen anything about a real date for the Eris.
