Root parsing PC36IMG

hELLO having trouble installing splash screens. i download file and reNAME PC36IMG, ALL CAPITALS. THEN HBOOT AND IT GETS STUCK ON PARSING PC36IMG. SOMEONE HELP PLEASE. THANKS AND YES S IS OFF

hmmm...perhaps a bad dwld?
I wonder if your sd card is at issue here, only because I have heard of people having issues with PC36IMG files not working due to a 2gb sd card.
What size is yours?

Sure...download Android Flasher here.
Then go here
Scroll down to HTCdev method and click on "show"
Scroll down to "how to get recovery" click on "show"
Scroll down to Android flasher method.
Substitute your splash screen PC36IMG for the recovery file.
Run Android flasher and follow instructions.
Now, what I am not clear on, is if you have to extract something out of the splash screen zip. I have not used this method, but it can be done.
You may have to extract the .img file first....
Basically you are installing a splash screen, not the recovery file, follow?:)
Like I said, I have not done it this way, but I am basing this info off of how I installed a recovery on a different phone when I rooted it.
