Someone want to volunteer an email? I would give mine but I expect whoever this email gets forwarded to will be asked a lot, and I don't want to disappoint.

forward the email you received to someone on the forum... i call BS, no way one guy would give out info and others won't.

So from what I can tell the info is true! utip sent me the emails which look legit to me!

Just very odd to me how one rep can send along some info, where nearly everyone else is hush-hush!

I wouldn't take it for much more than what it is...specs, i still don't see the release happening too quickly.

Either way, thanks for the info utip!

Email him back and get a conf. on the moviNAND Mem. and the optical mouse.

Heck, see if he'll just send you a copy of the spec sheet he's looking at.

Verizon will not be giving out official specs on the Nexus One unless it's speculation or opinion since it will only be sold by Google and not Verizon.

Interesting he didn't mention it was an "optical" trackpad. I doubt that feature would change from the models and specs that we have seen thus far. Hopefully he just used "trackpad" for shorthand. I do like the idea that the circle around the trackpad lights up... take that multi-colored N1 trackball!

I PM'd NKT this question as well since he has used the phone but I want to see anyone else's thoughts.

How accurate is the optical trackpad for moving the cursor within a line of text? I tried the one on the Devour and it is not that good. The only implementation I have seen of good cursor control within a line of text on a touchscreen only is the iPhone. The Eris and Droid is good because they have a physical control. Has anyone seen any videos of the Legend or Desire where they are controlling the cursor in a line of text with the optical trackpad? Thanks.

i guess Verizon was just like OK let's just give our frustrated customers an answer but don't tell them more than they already know.

Not everyone wants a huge screen. I wouldn't mind it but it isn't that much bigger. I think the built in memory is a better feature since that seems the biggest limitation with Android devices at the moment. More on board storage means more installable apps. Better option in my opinion.

Furthermore, Sprints 4g probably won't be all it's cracked up to be. IIRC @ CTIA they basically confirmed that LTE is a better technology in their own keynote. They said that WiMAX may be moving toward support LTE so ... you do the math.

It all comes down to preference in the end. Different people like different things and it is all subjective. bottom line.

There is no plausible limitation to the built in memory on phones. Just a lot of FUD.

I agree that it is more space to store pictures, videos, and mp3s and such without having to break the bank for a 32gb card, but the app limitation concern is a myth. You won't fill up a current phone with apps.

Having played with a HD2 and N1 right next to each other I can tell you the phone size on the HD2 is barely noticable, but the screen on the HD2 dwarfs the Nexus.

As far as WiMax vs LTE. All I think we would really need is just 10mbps or so for awhile. Which current WiMax is near. The biggest jump from 3g to 4g is ping which you will notice. This is probably be most dependant on your area for awhile... until Verizon's 4g map looks like their 3g map anyway.

Just to clarify, it is still OK to put my Nokia 5110 in my fanny pack, right?

LOL. I had to register for this one. I still have this phone, and a full 3w car kit, sitting in a box. It was an AWESOME setup :) (still powers up BTW)

that sounds like the nexus
3d gallery
512 ram and rom

... say for the 8mp.. and why wouldnt they say sence ui?

im not saying that utip is lying but maybe the rep is a lil confused.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, it's possible the rep just searched the internet and found some blog posting on some site like bgr or something that had those listed as the specs. I think if the customer service reps had gotten official info on the phone, we would have heard about it by now.

Edit: utip, thanks for sharing this though. Even if it does turn out that the rep had no idea what he was talking about, it is interesting that he would reply about this through his official email.

Size comparison of the EVO versus N1: http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_comparison/28273-HTC-EVO-4G-vs-Nexus-One

The rumored specs of the Incredible actually show it to be a little bit wider and a little bit thicker than the N1, so the difference between the Incredible and the EVO is even smaller.

For screen size comparisons, look on YouTube for HD2 vs. N1 faceoffs. drhill is correct: the difference is pretty striking, IMHO.

I just got the same standard form letter that everyone else has gotten. Hmmm maybe Utip got the one rep that checks out the phone forums.

The specs this guy sent included an AMOLED screen but I thought we'd "established" that the Incredible will have TFT. *sigh* oh yeah, I forgot--nothing "established" about any of this...just fun speculations, support, and humor. But I love it here... :)

No, incredible is definitely amoled. Evo is TFT.

After refreshing this thread for the past few days, I've decided I'll take my chances and wait to see what happens with the Incredible. Knowing my luck, if I bought a droid they'd release the incredible when I couldnt return the phone anymore haha.

You won't fill up a current phone with apps because no one is going to develop a memory-hogging app for a phone that cannot support it. Remember that the Android is a fractured market so a develop needs to consider lowest denominator developing--and not to mention that even the higher-end Android phones have roughly the same amount of limited on-board memory (256-512MB). It makes completely no sense for a developer to develop an app that potentially takes up virtually all the space in their userbase's devices (imagine a game like The Sims 3 which takes up 6GB of HDD being released at a time where people normally had 10GB HDDs).

Hey I know this has been discussed before, but I'm kinda glad the Inc hasn't come out yet if it actually does share the same screen as the N1. The screen (or the software) needs to be reworked. I did a simple youtube search because I was curious about all the ruckus regarding the Nexus One's screen issues, and it appears that its problems are not limited to multitouch. Many people have problems with the single touch capabilities as well. This short vid makes me wonder if the Inc is going to have these same issues. Again, I'm not trying to stir sh*t up, but its got me wondering because there are a lot of videos just like this one...

edit: I checked the nexus one section of this website for more info, and sure enough, there are threads galore about how the screen is spastic, resolution is terrible, and people generally question the quality of it.
