Help JC6 for i7500 (1.6) is out

Okay, some more testing revealed that 'no sleep' is triggered by using network location and then plugging and unplugging the charger. After overnight charge today, I have no 'no sleep' issue (I have rebooted the phone after performing the tests).

No offence, but the idea of Odin 'not flashing properly' seems like a total nonsense to me. 'No sleep' is clearly a software issue, and if the fw was not flashed the tiniest but 'properly' the phone would hardly work at all, rather than end up producing a bug that is so sophisticated )

so basically if i tick off A-GPS (Network location) I don't have to worry about bug.

When I was testing JB2, it was more to this bug than only NL.

No offence taken, but I've flashed my firmware a number of times and from my observations there are differences between the time taken to flash identical firmwares which seems odd to me.

Flashing IL3 first time - took a short time, no bugs
Flashing JB2 took ages - no-sleep bug appeared
Flashing back to IL3 using same files took ages and no-sleep bug appeared when it hadn't before.
Flashing JC4 took a short time, no bugs

I've been running JC4 for over a week now using every setting, combination of settings and reboots and I've been seeing excellent battery life, better than all other firmwares. Obviously I could have gotten lucky this time.

Dunno what other people think?

hmm, I doubt it's Odin, but anyway, what version do you use? I heard that 1.6 fw requires newer 3.98, not older 3.95..

on the other post its proven that network location is a red hering as other people have experienced it with no apps and these things turned off from the start.
the only person with solid evidence that its charging is that post its linked too
you have confirmed it

any chance you can test again without using any network aware apps to see if its just charging. if it is then this isnt really an issue for me as i normally do the long charges with the phone turned off anyway

I use version 3.95.

I agree, it would be odd if it was Odin, but then its odd that flashing the same firmware takes different lengths of time to do using the same files, and the problem on my phone only appeared when it took longer to do the flash.

On a French site I read a while ago (can not find the thread ) they seemed to think that there was a differnce in the quality of the installation of the rom depending on from which rom you flashed from ,so it could make sence that odin does not install perfectly clean install everytime and traces are left somewhere on the phone. Will try and find the thread so I can be more specific in my explication (and pehaps a bit clearer as well :))

dont know abt u guys, but i used odin3.95 to flash the JC4 firmware on my phone. Didnt experience any problems there nor ve i encounterd the sleep bug !!!!

Results of a battery related test i performed on JC4 is as below :
The battery now lasts a lot longer than the various firmwares i have used.
My usage includes 3hrs of Wifi, 3hrs+ of music, 10 calls < 3min(each), a few smses.
with my above usage, i could get about 35 hrs approx. of the battery bfore it required a recharge.

so guys who wanna move to 1.6, then i feel its pretty safe to do so !!!

Dont know wat others think though ?

I have flashed my phone to JC6 already, it gives me the feeling is a little bit slower but the battery management is improved, I don't find the problem of non-sleeping. My phone stands by a night (9 hrs) consumed 0% of battery, and the total time without sleeping among the 9 hrs is just 1.5 minutes.
Anyway, I come across a case which MAY made a long running process and keep my phone continous running. Once, I entered a place without mobile network and get out of this place. I found my phone lost 15%~20% of battery in about 20 mins, and the temperature of my phone is higher than normal. Than I check it with process management program, I found a dialer program was consuming 60% of CPU resource. Then I force it to stop, the program started automatically again, but it does not consume the CPU this time. Hope this info. can help you !!! :)

When using Odin 4.03, do we use the included spica.ops or the original orion.ops that came with 3.95? They're quite different it seems...

It's work but my phone can't flash recovery.img in fastboot mode
and show <waiting for devices> i have already install adb device
i tested it adb devices and see I7500xxxx device

Have you enabled USB Debugging?

You can also replace 'recovery' in PDA.tar file of JC6 firmware and flash it with Odin.
