A small bug I have found on my 2.1 = vibrate on incoming call. Sometimes it just vibrates even when I've turned vibrate off. Sometimes the phone automatically turns the vibrate back on randomly. No biggie just kind of funny. Dialer is so much better for me on 2.1 vs 1.5 no odd noises, super fast to call and hang up, just smooth. Hmm any more? Well the awake time, but that's fixed with airplane trick thingy. Oh yeah the voicemail "sending tones" when you program your voicemail number sequence like *86PPXXXXP1...it's a little glitchy and doesn't always work perfectly. That's all for now :rolleyes:

None of those specific ones mentioned... for some reason I thought it was a more general bug than just certain programs (anytime you click a link in an app that opens the web browser, is what stuck). All I know is I accidentally clicked a couple external links in apps, and they loaded just fine - so far.

it seems to be a specific slew of apps. I have several that work just fine.. it may be related to the same thing as private apps not showing up in the market since the phone isn't officially supposed to be on 2.1 yet
 
To share my experience with the new leak. I updated from 2.1 (v1) to 2.1 (v2) last night. All my apps were in the market, More HTC widgets worked, can't really tell about signal, it was about the same. The only thing I really notice is that there's lag when I first take the phone out of sleep, somewhat frustrating. Overall, so far so good.
 
If I put this on my phone will it be rooted? What are some advantages/disadvantages? Also can i still get the OTA updates if I do this? Sorry I'm a noob lol

In an effort to better protect your privacy Gmail now offers a log of all of your log-ins and log-outs. They had an instance where someone got a hold of some account information (just one person, this isn't an issue we all need to worry about) and they changed the log-in and log-out process on their end.

Just FYI in case you cared.
 
What's the 50% airplane trick thing I've seen mentioned a few times? I'm not sure what that's referring to. TIA.
 
I couldn't wait any longer. I finally updated yesterday and must say that I love the way my phone is working now. My wife is holding out for the OTA so I get to compare mine to hers. So far no major problems, everything seems to be working great. The flash process was super easy if you follow the instructions from the stickied post. This forum is great...it has been a huge help. Thanks!

It was something OTD posted by which setting your phone to "Airplane" mode (while phone is asleep and charging) may reset the % time without signal", and may help battery life and signal. Seems to work; however, my signal meter still seems to have a mind of its own.

My battery life has been pretty bad with 2.1 and I have noticed that I am constantly seeing cell standby at 50%, but not having any reception issues. Earlier tonight I needed to charge my battery back up quickly so I put the phone in airplane mode for about an hour while it charged. When I took it off the 2 hours ago I noticed that I had full bars, but didn't pay any more attention to it. I just looked and cell standby is clean. I have also been surfing the web for the last 2 hours and my battery is at 91%.

Bluetooth file transfer is added to the "share" menu for most files. I think those file transfer apps in the marketplace are for old rooted phones running pre eclair that couldn't do it natively.
 
BTF only works on 2.x. I had no luck on leak one.

Someone please tell me how to share a file that is on my phone with another Bluetooth device.
 
Sorry if this has been asked already, but is anyone having trouble connecting to their Bluetooth headset with the new leak? I have the jawbone prime and no matter what I do i cant seem to pair it with my Eris...any ideas?

I was having this issue every time I needed to reboot my phone and it was annoying as hell.

I did a factory reset to fix a notification problem I was having and neither issue has returned after several reboots.
 
I've noticed something. I don't know if anyone's posted this before or not but if so my bad. I really don't know if this is even a bug from (v2) of the leak. But when I listen to the music I have on my phone it skips around on the song I'm listening to, to different areas of the same song going back & fourth and it does it for about 10 seconds an then it will switch to a new song do the same thing for about 2 or 3 seconds and then to another song an another & on & on like its going outta wack. It only lasts for about a minute and then starts playing normally but its kinda wierd. Just wondering if anyone has had this same problem? It's only happened about 3 times total outta of the million times I use the music app but its annoying cause i use my music player a lot for verious things because I'm a music producer. But anyways ill let yall know if it happens anymore.

I haven't had that problem but my suspiciousions are that something else is running at the same time and bogging down the memory. The only time I have had performance issues was when I was running more than one application at the same time.
 
I have the original 2.1, but where do I find the 2.1v2 ? I am a phone newbie, but not a luddite... :-)

I used PB00IMG for my update, so, I guess I have v.2 :-). thanks for the help!
