***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Whatever happened to the folks saying that training was starting on the Incredible today? Was that another bogus statement just to keep teasing folks along?

Looks like there's no credible source of information on this thread. Even MM's box apparently turned out to be nothing.

I did that too, but as soon as i logged back in and posted i had been resubscribed. try this:

Click "User CP" at top of screen
Click "Edit options"
Change Drop down to say "No email notification"
Scroll to all the way to the bottom and click "Save Changes"

Apple's stock has been down lately due to HTC EVO announcment and lack of any new devices. I would bet this is either a controlled leak to steal heat from HTC EVO, HTC Desire, HTC Incredible and the 2.1 update.

I would also be willing to bet that it's to go along with the iPad release which will probably also give them a boost and get their stocks moving upwards and keep Apple in the media.

There also have been several articles posted recently (Newsweek being one) talking about how the iPad is going to be the future of computing (if the future of computing is no usb, camera, multitasking etc :rolleyes:) and I would be willing to bet that those are well timed, PAID FOR articles.

this is what i did with no success.

i'm going to unsubscribe too. maybe a double whammy will work.

Oh, it's something, all right.... Dude, there's not a doubt in my mind about that!! I was just not privy enough to be allowed to know what exactly!

Actually thinking about what VZW did with the release of the Storm2, this could make A LOT of sense. Several days before the Storm2 released, all the Storm1 phones got an official update to BB OS 5.0 because that was the OS version that was going to release on the Storm2.

Everyone knows that in keeping this phone from us for so long now - Verizon is being just plain evil! Therefore, this phone is officially known as the "Axis of Evil!" :D

We know it was something since the HTC rep freaked out about it so much......that is if Montana Man's story was true...... ;):D

FWIW...

I've been just lurking for several weeks now, because I was unable to do the email confirmation step (AF's mail server was on the Spamhaus block list). It seems they finally got that fixed and I just received my confirmation link via email, so I can now post.

I don't want to give out a lot of detail 'cause I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but a rep. I've been speaking to on and off for a couple months about moving from an Alltel family plan to a Verizon plan (which entails new phones) told me that the Incredible should be out in a couple weeks, and additional details such as pricing and a definite date may be available by the end of this week.

The latter statement makes me wonder if an official announcement is imminent.

Take it for what it's worth.
 
Slow day up in here. I'd love to hear from these people who made speculation about training going on. My patience is wearing thin.

As far as it being called Axis, I feel that would be the biggest fail ever. It is so bland.

I just don't get why there are other "box" stories out there yet I am the only one being razzed for it! :confused: But, oh well, I survived it intact! ! :)

I wouldn't worry too much about those people, a guy posts a photo yesterday night and everyone calls him out as a liar. It is just getting ridiculous in here, people flame the small number of people that are actually trying to give the information that they crave.

A pack of wolves I tell ya....
 
You may recall that yesterday I visited my Verizon store in Alpharetta and was met with sarcasm, doubt and condescention.

So today I visited my Verizon store here at work (Corner of 75 and Howell Mill Rd). The difference in the staff was like night and day. I had a very nice chat with a guy named Michael. It was funny .. I went in with this friendly sheepish grin like "I'm gonna ask you about something you're not allowed to talk about..." He and his associate grinned back and I though "I hit the jackpot."

Me: OK .. so I'm wondering if you know of any cool new devices that are about to come out? :)

VZW: Ahh ... I know what you're thinking :) The iPhone...

Me: Oh yeah, that's right .. there was some talk about that .. no, that's not what I'm talking about..

VZW: Oh .. I see.... you're talking about the Nexus One huh?!

Me: No .. not that one either .. there's another rumor out there about the HTC Incredible.

Anyway, the guy was super friendly, and seemed like he genuinely didn't know anything about the device. And he of course confirmed much of what's been said here with regards to the folks in the stores not knowing anything until like oe or possibly two days before the device is available.

He basically said that the in-store reps get way more information about what's happening from people like us going in and asking questions and telling them what we know (or what we think we know).

At least I know where to go for updates now ..
