Root [Avail] THEME RELEASE... Cyano(james)MOD

This is a cyanogen theme that I put together for the ZTE Avail/Merit using uot kitchen. It should be compatable with any stock Merit/Avail rom. I think it looks great, Im really happy with the way it turned out. There are some screenshots below. Dig it.

However the catch is that if you just install the theme, then your home screen will not look like the one in the picture. For that you will need to install a copy of Go Launcher that I have modified. The application itself has been slimmed down, some defaults changed, stuff like that.

To install the theme, download, leave zipped, place on sd card, enter CMW recovery, go to install .zip from sd, then go to select .zip, select Cyano(james)MOD.zip and install, then reboot.

To install my modified version of GO Launcher for the full effect, download, place file on sd card, now on phone find file using a file explorer and install. If you are already using Go Launcher then my version will replace it, uninstalling the market version before installing my version is recomended, but do not uninstall Go Launcher if you have previously deleted your stock launcher program.

But of course, before you do anything, make a nandroid backup because I am not responsible, nor will I lose any sleep if you brick your device.

@ Motorhead -- This one is based on a stock merit rom, I switched back to the stock merit for the purposes of developing my own rom, its going really well, except for the fact that this is my first smartphone and ive owned it for about four months... im taking up only 41mb on internal storage, with about 30mb still free in the system partition. Im just nervous, there is so much that I dont know yet...

@ Ideas -- The home screen will still fuction, the only things ive modded in my version of golauncher are, default wallpaper changed to the one you see in the picture, and stock shortcut icons swapped for the ones from the SAP CyanogenMOD theme for go launcher. Hardware wise you have the benefit of not having to install go launcher, and the theme, and then run both programs, because the theme has been integrated right into the launcher, saving all kinds of system resources.

Im working on further integating the two apks to put a little more spin on the my version of go launcher, but it is really tedious.

Looks good, Ive played around with UOT kitchen. Can make some cool themes and fonts to give it your own added twist.

Try doing it with the hex codes :P. It gets real fun then. I'm not dissing your work or anything, but hex coding is more interesting.

Yeah I bet, Im lightyears from doing anything like that, like I said, the first time I ever even held an android device was about four months ago, I dont really plan on doing any serious developing, I guess I only want to run my own rom just to say that I am running my own rom. I do enjoy themeing though, Ive made a few others that look really slick. Maybe ill post some more later.

Excuses... ;) At 4 months, I had developed my own ROM and learned how to script :p. By month 6, I had picked up custom theming. I'm on month 7, and am working on a massive source project.

I mean no disrespect james, I really do appreciate your help as a beta tester. By the way, it's a slippery slope when you start developing... And the rabbit hole is deeper than you think ;).

Wow... I thought I'd learned a lot.
I guess it comes down to free time and desire.
I find myself lacking on both of those fronts.

No disrespect taken, we all have our talents. I never claimed to be a developer, and I'm deffinatly not trying to steal anybodys thunder. I build heavy equiptment not software, but one thing is for sure, my old motorola i560 would be pretty proud of me.

what is the base of the rom 2.3.5 ? straight talk or att

james the rom is nice great job. I done many and know how much work goes into them.

Got a question about a problem. I keep getting an error saying my status bar cannot start. Any ideas why? I did a restore of my backup, re-dl'd the zip, and reinstalled... still the same problem.....

Make a backup of what you have right before you install it. then you could always flash back and delete the zip off your card.
