Just wok up and saw a firmware update, but I don't think it is Jellybean I will post a screeny later (late for work).

I's 4.0.4 though - thats still ICS isn't it?

Will do.

1 noticable difference - brightness slider in the drop down (again, I'll post a screeny later).

Build No. IMM76D.I9300XXBLH3

Yea, you should get another update or it might be skipped over for the JB release.

Latest build # for the international is I believe I9300XXBLG8

Received today as well Android 4.0.4 build # IMM76D.I9300XXBLH3 in UK. The only change I can see is the brightness slider anyone else find anymore changes?

Same here.

I've contacted THREE to see if they have a link to the release notes.

So late to release such an old update? Luckily I unbranded the phone.

If I'm not mistaken, the LH3 firmware is the latest release, so actually 3UK have finally caught up and are current! ... but like yourself I've been unbranded for a long time.

So 3 have finally got an up-to-date ICS release, just in time for replacement by JB.

Finally 3 gave us the update! I've been moaning at them for a while on the Three blog asking when we will get it. I've longed for the brightness slider as the auto brightness is annoying but the screen unreadable outside. Also expecting stability and battery improvements (I hope!)

That's always been there, just not in the notification area.

Is that what you meant ??

Are there release notes anywhere (Samsung site perhaps) for this update ??

When the screen isn't visible in bright sunlight, its quite hard to delve into a menu to turn the brightness up. Much easier to have it in the notification pull down. I have my screen brightness very low indoors so if I forget to turn it up I sometimes can't see it at all outside.worst thing about the phone imho

Not always, the brightness slider made an appearance on the second or third official update.

You should look at Elixir 2, free app, toggles and Alsorts in custom widgets on your home screen :)

I'm sure it always been there - I've had my S3 since release day.

Ne'er mind, don't wanna start a :fight::fight:

Yup, me too, had a firmware update as soon as it turned on for the first time before it was evan set up. Next update was about three days later. Unlocked, unbranded, international. Just saying.

As for the locked dock icons, I've read about the issue in a few threads, but as I said, I don't use touchwiz so I'm not bothered.

There has always been a brightness slider in the display menu in settings.including it in the notification panel was added in one of the early updates but as 3 chose not to issue these we've only just got it! Better late than never!

Yea, in the notification area is what I was referring to. Shocking that you've only just got it.
