I work at metro store and have been selling these phones noticing a pattern on the serials. I am 90% sure if you have a IMEI 9900007700XXXX with S/W MS77010b you have a 1.5ghz one for sure. Reason being after the third or forth shipment of phones the S/W number changed to MS77010c also the Common numbers on the IMEI are 99000077XXXXXX now.
I went to a sales seminar and won a motion that was an early batch 99000077003XXX with S/W MS77010b and after rooting I verified was running at 1.5ghz. I also noticed which i don't particular remember when selling the early ones was the model number it is different, LGMS770SS instead of LGMS770 it also shows on the SKU.
What I do not know if all 1.5ghz are SS or not or mine is different.
I ask that anyone with a 1.5ghz to look on your box and tell me if you see SS on the SKU and on the top row after the 770.
Also found another possible difference but going to work to verify with phones in stock before I say anything. Btw held and played with the Metro Galaxy s3 at that same seminar that day.
