Root Is there need to wipe DATA/FACTORY RESET after installed new ROM/Kernal?

No u just flash the kernel and reboot back into the system.. now if you flashing a rom yes you do u need to do a manual wipe and clean dalvick and wipe battery stats .now if you flashing ld drifta roms just use the ld easy wipe .

i never clean battery stats, is that bad though?

Charge your batt to 100%, unplug, reboot into recovery, wipe batt stats, done.

And wiping data isnt actually necessary, as it shouldnt need to be.... but in some cases not wiping data causes issues, thus alot of dev & ppl swear by it.
