Hey Guys,

I've been trying to get info out of our Corporate Rep and this is her reply to me today.
"not as good as the droid - it will have a faster processor but an update is being made for the droid to increase the speed - the droid is still the best."

I don't like the sound of that....but I'm supposed to get a call from one of her techs from her office that is a "droid geek" and hopefully i'll be able to scrounge some more info out of him...

Edit: I don't like the sound of it because it seems like they may not push the ADR6300 as much as we think...

I have an appeal to all lurkers: Why don't you come out of the woodwork and show yourselves? Contribute! Let us get to know you! If you follow the rules you won't get your head bitten off! Thanks!

My second post.. Ta da! Sorry guys, I check this thread several times a day, I just don't have anything to contribute-no news, no insider info, no chats with VZW employees, etc.. I'm waiting and waiting for that Incrediwhatever and really enjoy the updates.. you might say I'm a bit obsessed, but I guess everyone here is.

Definitely different than the N1 and Eris. The N1 has the rounded edges and feels VERY nice in the hand. The Eris has the same to some extent.

The Incredible is a bit more angular, but not as much as the Moto.

It felt good, just not as good (IMHO) as the N1.

In case anyone wanted to compare!!! ;)

I dunno, I kind of doubt that. Snapdragon is newer than the Cortex A8 and I think has more potential. Maybe maxing out the Cortex will make it faster than a leisurely running Snapdragon but I think the Snapdragon is the superior chip and I'm sure HTC has a reason for the clock speed being where it is, etc.

So, I have a genuine question. Why is this phone so highly anticipated? Is there this much speculation for every phone? For example, was the DROID forum this much abuzz before its appearance? Someone enlighten me?

Me? I've never been this anticipatory for a phone. Is it the fact that I'm here talking about it?

I don't have anything to contribute, but it doesn't stop me! ;):p

I agree with you. I'm just wondering if Verizon might actually "undersell" the phone in favor of the Droid....

NKT, did it feel top heavy like some people have reported with the N1.

Did you feel the N1 was top-heavy?

I noticed the N1 batt sits near the top of the phone. The Incredible batt seems to sit more centered on the device.

For me it's all about my first foray into a new device/operating system. I have been using Blackberries for so long that I'm hyped about a change and of course I need the newest device with the fastest processor....so I follow the hype until I get it and settle down for a year or so until something new and shiny catches my eye

It was like this for the Storm2 on CrackBerry, but it was a whole crazy forum instead of just one main thread.

Honestly don't see how a software upgrade can make the Droid that much faster than the Incredible, and what happens when the Inc. gets an upgrade? will it be 20x faster than the droid?

As it be, the Droid and Incredible are for two different types of people, keyboard vs non keyboard.

If you liked the Eris, you'll love the Incredible.

As for the comments about VZW and HTC keeping things tight, it's amazing what an NDA and really good lawyers can do to keep your mouth shut.

I'm pretty sure the penalties for leaking information are severe, and unless your face is seen in Forbes, probably not worth risking.

Aren't they based off the same architecture and chip pretty much??

And isn't it the same as the whole war between the Xbox 360 vs. PS3

DROID + iPhone 3GS have a dedicated GPU which is better than the Snapdragons integrated. But Snapdragon just has a better CPU? In reality, if developers utilize the GPU in the DROID like they do in the iPhone 3GS, it will get better framerates and do better in gaming. That's why the iPhone 3GS still gets better framerates than the Nexus One.

Feel free to correct me if im wrong, but the DROID still does have potential over snapdragon.

I want to add my $.02.

When I was dealing Verizon, we got "Collateral" (promotional material, flyers, etc) and a daily basis, shipped one-day by FedEx. sometimes we'd get new ones the next day that cancelled out the ones we got the day before! We complained about the waste and the dead trees, etc.

I'm saying this because things change constantly with Verizon. They can release and stock new phones at seemingly a moments notice. As an Indirect, I had to purchase my handsets from a third party so couldn't compete price-wise with Verizon company stores. Which got the newest handsets faster then I could.

I finally gave it up because there was no way to compete with Verizon itself, it was unfair as far as I was concerned.

When they are ready to release the Incredible, their massive machine will kick in and they will be available almost instantly.

Thanks for all the great info (and fun) on this thread!:D

well i have been lurking since january. been enjoying every little bit of information i get from this forum. the only information i can give is that when i spoke to my corporate verizon rep, he told me he had tested it, and it was fantastic. but he did tell me that it will come with a 16gb micro card. now that may be something that is already been confirmed. just thought i would pass that along.

but hello everyone, my name is dave. live in ga, got a newborn baby at home, so i check out whats going on in the middle of the night, during feedings. really enjoy everyone in here.

hope everyone has a great day.
