i'm about to flash this as we speak. my internet went down yesterday. stupid cheap as verizon dsl!!!!!! will let you guys know in a few days how this rom handles.

Are you going to over clock this ROM?

Changes:
Updated zeppelinrox multitasking tweaks
Increased visible recent apps to 16 (credit Steal25)
Option to OC to 1.728 Ghz w/EvilZ kernel (flashable zip in /sdcard/MeanROM-ICS, see post 3)
Option to disable keyboard notification (see post 3)
9/22 OTA (fix for contact ringtones)
Updated Sense 4.5 camera (v8.0)
Updated apps: ES File Explorer and YouTube

glad i had a bad download. lol gonna download this now and flash it later:D

Ok so I've wiped and flashed the 4.5 version a few times and tried the evil kernel, each time I install the kernel I get stuck on the boot screen and the screen has glitches. I'm s-off with hboot 1.12.222 with the latest teamwin recovery. I use superwipe before each flash. Anyone else have this issue?

Yeah, did it straight to the device and transfered from my computer... I will try again though. I don't need to oc but when does anyone really need to have V12 engine.

do not use superwipe for the kernel. it will wipe the system partition where your rom is at. only wipe dalvik cache and cache and flash the kernel.

I know that much :), I only wipe before flashing the ROM. I'm reading around here and xda trying to find out if I missed a step somewhere.

Ok, I've checked xda and no one has a solution. I just downloaded the ROM once again and did a proper install (superwipe, install, wipe cache, flash kernel reboot). The meanrom screen glitched and flickered but finally loaded but it would constantly reboot so I booted into recovery and performed a factory reset. Still same issues. I don't think my evo likes this kernel. Maybe it doesn't like white evo's...

try this wipe, superwipe, flash rom, reboot, sign in and make sure things are working right, go back into recovery make a nandroid backup, wipe dalvik cache & cache, flash kernel.

doing everything all at once is fine, but it could be a bad download of the rom or kernel. doing it your way, it is hard to sort that out. try doing it separately and see.

Question for you... I flashed the overclock zip just to try it out.

How do I go back to the stock setting? Flash the zip again?

basically what you just did was flash a kernel. so you can either do a nandroid restore or wipe dalvik cache and cache and re-flash the rom. this will not loose data(unless you wipe it which is not necessary) and it will return the rom with the stock kernel that it comes with.

Thank you.

I might stay OC'd for a little bit, but I'm not really seeing a noticeable difference, yet.

it seems to be pretty smooth so far with this rom with the evilz kernel. i'm maxed to 1728 and 192 with the smartassv2 governor. on one day battery life has been pretty good and the rom is super smooth.

gonna make a nandroid backup of this and then flash the latest viper rom later tonight.

Is there an app or something that I could see the processor stats in real time?

well setcpu does this. i have not seen anything else that would do it.

Cool, I'll check it out

Pretty cool app, just purchased it. So i can set my speeds within this app right? No need to really undo the overclock zip then... Correct?

Ok, the install of the ROM was fine. But flashing the kernel causes the issue. Not exactly sure why. Could there be something different in the white evo, or in any evo's? How do I check the integrity of the download?

the overclock .zip is actually the evilz kernel. with the stock kernel you can't overclock. and either setcpu or rom tool box you can over and underclock your phone as well as set up governors and profiles. i never use profiles however.

here read these:

ok that is good to know. now there should be an md5 somewhere. and just curious are you using the one that is included? it is found in the mean-rom ics folder on the sd card.

have you tried other kernels? because for me the enoch kernel ( at least the one on my card still) will not work with this rom. gonna try a fresh download, wipe dalvik cache and cache and re-flash the enoch kernel later tonight.
