Here's the thing: Verizon customers are generally such not by choice but by compulsion. We are those who require that their phones actually do telephony reliably, and exist in areas where Big Red is the only real game.

Sprint's prices seem awesome, and the EVO looks great. But where I am, I just don't think their service is an option. Sure, I hear that they roam on VZW's network, but I hear its not exactly an equal experience.

But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I had Sprint before switching to Verizon years ago. I don't know if they've improved their service in my area or not, but the idea of going back to the dropped calls keeps me from trying. I even live in the KC area, so you'd think they'd have top notch service where they're located. The most frustrating thing was that my calls would always drop as I drove past Sprint Headquarters. Others with Sprint would mention the same thing. My impression was, if you can't cover the street next to your national headquarters you have problems.

This was many years ago, so they are probably better now though. I definitely agree that they're pricing is very good, and they're getting some nice phones for sure. If Verizon really didn't get anything good before Sprint's latest stuff ships I suppose I'd give them a shot, but I just can't imagine Verizon not getting the Incredible to us before then.

Please don't kill me if this is a repost. I had a funeral to go to yesterday so I fell behind with this thread. I thought I saw last night on androidcentral.com an article about a post here that showed the Incredible training was now available. Now that is missing on their site and this thread is way too big to find a needle in a hay stack lol.

Was that an April fools joke or was it real?

Thanks :)

My sympathies :( Hope you are doing ok today

Hate to break the news to you, but the training graphic was indeed a hoax.

Hopefully we all won't be waiting too much longer for the Incredible though.

It was an april fools joke. :( sorry.

hmm the next droid = Shadow maybe? I know the Incredible is bad azz but the shadow has HDMI. Someone talk me down from the ledge I have had my thoughts of waiting for the Shadow.

FWIW the verizon guy that called me yesterday to tell me I was eligible for upgrade mentioned the shadow yesterday. Since I was NOT in the market for a Moto phone I didn't ask any questions... he said late summer/early fall. Sorry. Irritating... they causually mention the shadow... a phone not really close to release.... but know NOTHING and have never heard of the Incredible?

I am doing fine. My wife's uncle died. Everyone knew it was coming he was in pretty bad shape.

Thanks guys. Darn it! I was really excited yesterday. O well, some cruel people out there.

I guess I will just have to deal with my EnV2 a bit longer but it will be worth the wait.

A little OT here. But does anyone watch Modern Family? He got the iPad and was basically fondling the thing. Just thought it was funny because I could see most of us that excited and doing the same thing when we get our Incredible. Even my husband asked me if that's what I would be like with my new phone. lol.

Ok, off to get get tortured, oh I mean physical therapy. See ya guys later.

Thanks NKT!

First post...

IMO this thread has been approached exactly as it should be: There really is no news and people here seem to like sharing their misery and anticipation for the Incredible. As the saying goes, "Misery likes company". Keep it up and have fun with it until something actually happens. Meanwhile, I'll keep pressing F5 to feed my own addiction...

I personally come her for the therapy for my addiction. Any news that I get about the Incredible cause of my addiction is a bonus.

All of us that hung in here through yeasterday's clusterfuch are clearly obsessive about this bloody phone. A massive 24 hour post count with absolutely NO new information must tell us something, right?

Verizon will release phones on any day, they've even released one on Sunday I think. Tuesdays are just popular because its first of the week after a day of shipping.

Tuesday is popular because its usually the day movie studios and distributers release new movies on dvd

Great news, do you think the current Palm promotions will have any affect on the release of the Incredible? I think someone a few pages back said the Palm promotion was slated to end sometime around mid-April

I these Palm promotions aren't relate as much to the N1 or Incredible as it is to Palms lack luster performance in the advertising department. I mean have you guys seen the ads for these things? Engadget did a great article about it couple weeks back it seems. Palm: this is your survival guide -- Engadget . On another note I think WebOS is pretty great as you can port iPhone apps pretty quickly from what I've heard but they are marketing these things to soccer moms for goodness sake! (No offense to soccer moms intended.) The pre has a mirror on the back .... roflcopter?

I used to work at a video store in college and hated Monday nights for that very reason :) Here's to hoping the Incredible gets released on any day that's today or tomorrow :)

music to my ears. i need to be patient and start saving some money

What do you think about the touch buttons? Isn't it better to have physical buttons like on the Desire?
But I think it's nice that the buttons are closer to the screen.

Sure and I totally understand. I think Verizon has definitely earned their reputation. Like I said...my intent was to switch....and I have several family members on both mine and my wife's side of the family that are now with Verizon and are happy. I don't think the EVO 4G is a viable option unless you are already a happy Sprint customer, you live in a WiMax area...or you are interested in a less expensive plan. For me, and I would wager a few others, it could make good sense. I have a dropped call about every 3 or 4 weeks now. Most of the time it's in an area outside of Austin and somewhat predictable. In the places I travel most, other cities, airports, etc....I have no problem at all. As far as I'm concerned, the deal changer is access to WiMax. An occasional....very occasional dropped call is offset by faster surfing speeds and a (hopefully) cheaper plan. With all the lurking here....I'm more than aware of the "compulsion" towards Verizon. I'm also aware that many people are tired of waiting. And I'm also aware that the people here take their phones and provider very seriously. With this said....to me...WiMax is very serious. YMMV. :)

So did anyone confirm whether that pic of the devices "on order" that are supposedly in a warehouse somewhere was legit? Or was that another one of IncrediblyAnnoying's pranks? Yesterday was a pretty confusing day and now it's all just a blur.

I actually started wondering about that myself after last night's events, but was afraid to even broach the subject. I also didn't want to come across as questioning pewpew and egg_head (don't know who was the first, nor where they got the screenshot) and lumping them in with the likes of IA.

However, after yesterday I have gone from optimistic to cautiously optimistic - at no fault to PP or EH.

My wife and I watch Modern Family. Funny show! I'm sure you're right about the amount of enthusiasm as well. It's always funnier when you know it's based on a bit of truth!

Torture eh..... any chance we can sign some of these top Verizon execs up for some of this physical therapy? It will stop when they supply a release date. :D

I would personally prefer physical buttons myself, especially after hearing about the wonky behavior of the buttons on the Nexus One. If they fix that issue it'd be fine either way though.

I have only heard this phone mentioned a few times... probably on here... but I really would not put too much stock in what that guy said... I give him low marks for credibility.... he knew about nexus one, didn't have a release date, the stock "soon" answer but when I mentioned the adr6300 he thought I was talking about the phone that is supposed to be like the Evo and told me late summer.....never heard of the incredible????? Maybe this is a new tactic to give zero information... convince the customer that you have no clue what you or they are talking about, they will think you are an idiot and stop asking questions? They might have decided this is better than the "that phone does not exist" or the "I am not allowed to discuss phones that are not in our system" responses.

Just to torture myself I called Verizon CS about upgrading my phone. The rep had not even heard of the Incredible and when I ran some of the specs by her she said she wanted the phone and Googled it. She said what everyone else has posted CSR's saying, new phones coming out soon, don't know what phones or when.

boooo!!!
i want a 4.3in phone for verizon

The N1 has a ClearPad 2000 sensor, right? Is there any information about which touch screen sensor the Incredible has?
But is the problem on the N1 caused by the hardware or the software?

I posted this late last night or early morning. I should have figured no one would see it. :p Anyway, what do you guys think? Would our resident Photoshop expert (Nash) be proud? Actually I am too cheap to buy Photoshop so this image has been Gimped. ;) Thought everyone might want to see what it might look like on the Verizon site. I know, it's completely worthless but heck, news is slow right now anyway.

Edit: file didn't attach the first time.

Hello All
Hi, I've been lurking since a little before the CTIA, originally had been searching for info on the N1, but got sucked into this pretty quickly.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the info and entertainment and hard work by the Mods. Even the squabbling didn't bother me all that much, but I'll play by the rules!

I hope to stick around and learn from all your wisdom to get the most out of this device when it finally becomes available, as I'm not really super tech savvy (never heard of "rooting" before this forum, for example)

On a more personal note, I've noticed I have this issue- basically to keep waiting for the "next big thing". I've been eligible for many months now for an upgrade, but I keep waiting for this feature or that- didn't like the droid because it was too heavy, etc.

Now I'm wondering about the whole HDMI thing, because that is certainly a handy feature for every other device I own, and it doesn't sound like it will be on the Incredible. However, I can't keep waiting forever (for the Shadow, or whatever) since this whole experience, while being enriching has also been tormenting!

For what it's worth (not much), I have visited my Verizon store, the girl there must think I'm nuts because I keep coming in there with more info than she has, but as of yesterday she had finally heard of the Incredible from other employees, so that was finally some good news outside of this forum.

Anyhow, thanks again everyone!
