Not to name names or try to flame anyone, I just find it odd that the majority of the people who get positive news (i.e. just talked to a manager/csr/friend-who-knew-a-guy-that-dated-a-girl) have a relatively low post count or are "first time , long-timers" the cynic in me is telling me to take what they say at it's face value but the Steven58 in me wants to throw them a ticker tape parade. Just saying I can't be the only one that feels this way...
We were all once new members, so who cares. Most of the stories people are posting are similar anyways, and nothing new (directed towards the "Oh well my VZW CSR said this month!!!".. how many times have we heard that one?). Unless someone comes out and says "the release date is ____", there really isn't any problem with newcomers posting stories that have been beat down to a pulp.

Those 2 pics appear to be one in the same just cropped differently.

It would appear that way probably because the cellebrite devices are pretty much identical to each other.

Plus the sources of each separate photo are very well trusted in this forum, so you have to take that into account. Add in the fact that AF and Berryscoop checked with their internal sources as well and got confirmation, you're talking about several different folks all confirming its existence in cellebrite. I'd say from that standpoint alone, there is a much higher likelihood that it is legitimate rather than it being a coordinated conspiracy between separate sources that probably don't know each other.

I wonder which VZ CSR to believe.

They're coming out in March, April, May, June and August and January.....
They're not coming out because the N1. because of the fight with Steve Jobs, they're not coming out because of a problem in the software/hardware.

They're in the warehouse, The're still in Taiwan,.........

and so my head spins!:p

Exactly. I'm personally disregarding posts that come through people with friends working for Verizon. We've had lots of confirmation that they won't be told until the last minute, so if they give info it's not something from Verizon's corporate office. Once every 'my friend at Verizon' story is the same we'll know it's close. I think in most every case it's not posters or employees being malicious, they're trying to help as best they can, it's just that there's nothing real to offer at this point.

Until then, at least we're getting a bit of info today. It was great to see the Cellebrite photos, since it's been so long since there's been anything reported that wasn't speculation.

Believe you me, I enjoy hearing about other people's interactions with anyone that may have info regarding the incredible. I just really don't know how to take that info. Because it's never conscise and to the point and it all ways ends in a vague and amiguos way. I appreciate any and all info regarding the incredible I just hate hate hate getting my hopes up and am truly trying to stay detached from any info that isn't a sales receipt for the damn phone. I think I do my best to keep things light in this thread and I welcome all new comers, I was just merely stating how I felt about it and was trying to see if anyone felt the same as I do.

I see what you're saying, but I tend to think that a lot of newer members are drawn to this site, lurk and read posts, and finally feel comfortable in telling their story when they feel as if they finally have something to add. There is always a comment or situation which led us all to jump from lurking status to trying to contribute or add to the discussion

If the ITC's investigation concludes that HTC products violate Apple's patents, the body has the authority to bar the sale and importation of the products in the U.S. Such investigations typically take several months. The ITC said it would set a target date for completion of the investigation within 45 days of instituting it.

So, if I read this correctly, there is more than enough time for verizon to stop sitting on their hands and get these phones on the street.
But will they?

Well, I'm not quite as skeptical, I just feel that perhaps some of those CSR's are getting their info. from us! ;)

I totally understand. And to be honest, I just skip over the posts about "well I went into my VZW store today and had a talk with the CSR and he said this month!" because they're pointless to me. And for the posts that seem to hold some value, I show my appreciation by "Thank"ing them, however still will have my reserves until its been officially announced. This does not mean I don't appreciate what others have tried to dig up, but at the same time, just like yourself, I want it to come out of the horse's mouth.

I am done with this thread. At least for a while. Kappy is taking a week or so to clear his head. I was giving him a daily break down of the going ons in here. Could someone else please take over?

Well after VZW is done sitting on their hands they will perform something that I like to call "the stranger" adn once that act is completed they have to clean up the mess make a sandwich and take a nap. After all that they may still have time to get a couple of phones out into the market.

Hehe. It probably sounded more harsh than I meant it. I appreciate the people's efforts, it's just that I think you're right. People either don't know, or they've read speculation here and then are reporting it as fact back.

Like TheGoatLantern and others, I just can't get back on the rollercoaster until I know the track doesn't disappear at the top of the ride. :D

I am just trying to take it all in and make this thread as fun as possible, gotta do something while we wait, right? ;)

Here's what I see as the "truth" part of the CSR stories. We are hearing "two weeks." I got the same kind of thing from them when I asked them when the Pre Plus was going to come out.. So, I believe that part of it! :)

EDIT: they should make a movie about happening behind the scenes with this phone...the corporate drama!

Well thats interesting because they are after the HTC phones namely running Android and even more specific probably sense. They can't hault all HTC phone imports because HTC does make other phones that don't run android (which is what Apple is suing over). At least that's how I have read the situation. Most of the patent infringements are towards Android, and since its not against Google, I assume they are attacking Sense.

I wouldn't worry about that situation just yet. When it gets to a point of concern, you can bet Google will step in and defend their open platform.
You are right on that one. Apple sued HTC because they are the "little guys" and they did not want to take on Google directly. HTC doesn't have what Google has: very deep pockets! Google can go toe to toe with Apple and the whole universe knows that. However, IMHO, if Google gets dragged into this it will be the mother of all corporate battles.

Is it possible that Verizon is worried that if they sell more Android phones, and Apple should ultimately win their case (highly unlikely IMHO), they will be dragged into the whole mess as a co-conspirator? We're talking millions of dollars here.

I've said before (and been thanked for the comment): in my experience, some of the best inside tips come from people with very few posts. Yes our resident insiders may get new information, but often new information comes to someone who doesn't regularly post here. They decide to share the leak, search for discussion boards, and find that this is the most active one.

To be honest, none of the long-time high-post-count folks in this thread -- other that NKT -- have demonstrated reliable access to non-public information.

Edited to add: I'm not demeaning our CSR contributors to this thread, but let's be honest: CSR information is one-step removed from public information anyway. When I refer to inside news, I mean stuff that comes from VZW or HTC technical departments, marketing departments, strategy departments, and QA testers.

The problem with that whole scenario is that if the ITC can shut down HTC by the time this is resolved 3 years from now android will be dead and gone and apple will be selling Iphones on all networks
