***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

I am very tempted to go out and buy a Droid/Droid Eris today to get me used to Android and hold me over until the Incredible release. There are two issues holding me back:

1) It seems somewhat morally wrong.
2) What if the Incredible doesn't come out till June or something? Am I going to want to go back to my HTC Touch?

Decisions, decisions.

I hear ya. The Droid fonts look very crisp, but can be a bit tiny. This is especially annoying when the phone is in my car dock, and I'm trying to flip through music without leaning over the dash.

P.S., the EVO LOOKS huge, but will probably feel just fine in the pocket. I posted this a while back, but a friend with an HD2 (with a case on it) let me mess around with his phone. It felt surprisingly slight in my pocket.

Just clowning around my friend. I'm realizing that I will soon need glasses. Staring at a computer screen all day is really taking it's toll. :confused:

I really hope we hear something soon. This wait is killing me!:p

Of course I know you're joking, silly!! However, the day will come (if you're lucky/blessed) when you TOO will need reading glasses and who will get the last laugh then, mister! HA! ;) :D

But then it's voice to text by windows which couldn't work as well as google's. ;)

Maybe they'd have a 2.1 droid? Doubt it though.

Call me ignorant, but I just can't imagine them relesing the Incredible 30 days before the Shadow. Everyone would return their Incredibles, right? In fact, that's probably the marketing strategy here for VZ. They want to get all the DROIDs sold and hook people in so they can't return them! :rolleyes:

Yea, and after this wait for the Incredible it would seem kind of foolish to think the Shadow really would be released in June ... But one can hope :D

So here is my .02 cents...

So it says "Additional Android Handset launches". It doesn't say its specific to the Incredible. Also I remember that a few pages back someone said that Sprint is releasing the Nexus One at the end of the month.

Wouldn't it make sense that Google would release the Nexus One for Verizon the same time? So I am thinking that we might see the Incredible in the mid April time frame.

Again my theory is why would Verizon pimp out the Nexus One the same time as the Incredible? They would loose out on unloading their inventory and having to hold on to more stock then needed which is a lose in overhead and possible profit for them. Remember Verizon Wireless is not a publicly traded company and anything they make they keep.

I'm just sayin....

Is 4.3" still excessive when packaged in a chassis barely larger than a 3.7" phone? To me, it's SMARTER! :) More high-tech too, a more efficient use of space.

I think the same goes for the new Iphone. The rumor is it will be announced June 22nd. There are a lot of people like myself that want to escape ATT - so it would be in VZW best interest to release the incredible and have the 30 days up before people get drunk on the apple kool aid.

If they ever release this phone I'm sold - can't wait to not get voicemails anymore that are dated 5 minutes ago and go thats odd my phone never rang. :eek:

Agreed. The EVO uses a much more efficient chassis and is only a few mm larger than the Iphone I believe. 4.3 " screen would be great if it is in a nice package.

I'm with VZ and that happened to me once or twice. There is this old building that has a tin roof that prevents signals from going through it. That's about all it's ever happened to me.

I found this program that is supposed to allow you to use itunes to put music/videos on non apple devices.

I'm hoping this works as it would help make my transition from Apple to Android a little easier.
 
I'm just a newbie here, and tried but just could read every word of the 458 pages in this thread so this may have been said, but I do know that there is new device training in the 3rd week of April for the new handsets coming out, and when I asked which handsets, I was told new smartphones.
They were tight lipped, more so than usual, about what devices would be covered.

I'll keep checking resources though

Woudn't the eris be closer to the Incredible? I tried out the eris for 30 days and returned not only because of the Incredible rumors, but because i really didn't like it. Texting was BRUTAL....

I'm with VZW and that happens to me once or twice a week. Maybe that's as good as it gets where I'm at, if Verizon is truly the best network. The "can you hear me now?" guy has clearly never been down my block. :)

Don't do it brother...Hang in there. Sweet things are on the way. Lay off the coffee and all will be Incredible shortly. Wouldn't it suck if you got the Droid today, and we don't see the Incredible till May 4th?
