Verizon I command you to loosen your grip on this phone or I will be forced to release the Kraken

As far as the nexus and the incredible being the same phone, I will repeat what I have said 2x already in this massive thread...the nexus one will NEVER have sense ui installed on it from the factory (this goes against everything google believes and is exactly what they are trying to stop with the N1 (fragmentation of the os)) so unless the incredible was released without sense ui it will not be the nexus 1.

and of course there are the 2 fcc filings as well

I think Google being against fragmentation of the OS means they don't want some phones on 1.5, some on 1.6, some on 2.0, etc all at the same time. Not that Google is against things like Sense UI and Motoblur.

I realize this is much to ask, but I've been gone for the whole weekend, and I haven't heard any news... so.. If someone can sum up what has happened the past 3 days. I would love everyone so much. PLEASE! D:

ummm lets see:

4/1- big drama- thread closed again. photoshopped picture posted.
4/2- calender picture showing "additional Android device to be launched on 4/28
4/3- discussion as to whether calender was photoshopped leading to discovery of Infomanager site showing HTC Incredible listed but no device info.

And somewhere in there don't remeber if it was Thursday or Friday HTC Incredible shows up on Cellbrite system.

Thinks that about sums it up:rolleyes:

Edit: Ok so I'm slow

1) Incredible showed up on the system of a third party company that poroviders use to sync data on phones. Theoretically proof that the phone is more imminent

2) someone posted the picture of a calendar in a VZ Store that indicated the release date of a new android phone on 4/28. Ther was some question as to it's veracity, but the poster claimed it to be genuine.

3) Various anecdotal evidence from VZ CSR's.

I think that does it.
Oh? A calendar? Hm.. I think I might have to search around this thread for the image. I can't believe it's taking SO DAMN LONG for VZW to release this amazing phone already!

:D This is awesome how many people are actually helpful still in this thread. Thank you a lot. :) I'm going to find that calendar picture now.

watching a commercial by a sprint exec.. about the sprint free guarantee. hmm...

but wouldn't sense add to the fragmentation problem since stock android platforms would be easier to upgrade making the stock android platforms have a different version than sense products for a period of time?

There were a few articles I read the other day saying Google may be planning to add more of the standard apps to the marketplace in future releases, which would make it faster for HTC to update their version with Sense on it.

I'm digging for one of the articles now.

wheeewwww... fast thread in here right now <feels the heat>

Since everyone in the tech-o-spere knows what the N1 looks like by now, they're not going to release a completely different looking phone with a different carrier and call it the N1; that will make all the newbs even more confused than they normally are.

I have seen lately where a few people have called the Incredible the successor to the Eris. From Verizon's standpoint, I don't know that they really see it that way. So far their deal has been a high-end Android phone (Droid) and an entry level Android phone (Eris). If anything, from their marketing and price point positioning, The Devour is now their newest entry level Android phone and the Incredible will be the new flagship handset. From Motorola and HTC's perspectives, they make many handsets and sell what they can to different carriers. I would think that Moto just sees the Devour as another handset they make that VZW picked up to sell. I certainly wouldn't call a phone that is slower than the Droid its' successor...

@s34n1811 & crimton - in relation to releasing the Incredible, I think the execs at Verizon have been smokin' some kraken.

@Shamrock13 - to sum it all up: no one still has a SURE release date for the Incredible and everything that has been said this weekend is all pure speculation, albeit some rather good speculation, at times.

Does anyone know someone who uses sprint? If so what have they said about their service?

My husband had them until last September when he joined my VZW family plan. He dropped calls much more often than I did and I personally felt their billing was really confusing (I manage our finances). He also didn't have any signal at work with his Sprint phone but when I would visit him my VZW phone was fine.

i just smoked some incredible kraken

One of my buddies has Sprint and in his last house he used to drop calls all the time. I mean that quite literally. Keep in mind, this is downtown Portland where Sprint currently has its 4G wimax network in place. Dumb.

^I love how the Verizon gods can do whatever they want and not care how many people it frustrates just because they have the best network and know that no one will leave. And, what are we going to do about it??? Just sit and wait.....
