Pewpew, I have attempted to keep up with what you guys are saying about the cpu/gpu power of droid vs incredible etc

Do you believe that the Incredible's gaming power will be optimized by developers through later updates (like later released games on 360 look better than early ones usually)?

I just dont understand why/how they would release a phone that has worse gaming/3d performance than the Droid and the Iphone 3gs, especially if they expect to compete with the phones on the horizon.
 
Then we hunt them down like dogs and gut them like fish....all while singing the "Incredible Song" that we will all start humming as we slowly, one by one LOSE OUR MINDS OVER THIS!!!!!

Here's a part of an article explaining the Snapdragon. This should help you all put it's performance into perspective.

As for that video on the OMAP... the only reason I can see that they'd get that extra performance is if they upped the operating frequency of the GPU by quite a bit. Simply shrinking the die isn't going to give you performance.

Also... AFAIK OpenGL 2.0 isn't supported by Android. I believe it's OpenGL 1.0(though I thought I also read somewhere it supported 1.3)

Seriously, I have never heard that the term, "bitching" is derogatory. Yes, calling somebody a bitch might be. I wouldn't do that as I have class. LOL

Lighten up peeps. I'm just trying to give people the hint to keep the complaining about verizon's pricing out of the thread and in the proper forum. Last week it was potty training, this week it's my ten year old's data useage. Geeeeez.

i agree everyone should go getem!! i mean if we all make twitters and only hound them for incredible news then their going to have to comeback with something..show no mercy!

Right, but an iPhone on the VZN network would in no way hurt Verizon.

no i agree your right it wouldnt hurt verizon..i just believe if something big gets announced on vzw before the incredible we could be waiting a long time..

I'll be honest, i can't really answer your question. Idk why they didn't put a better GPU in Snapdragon. Maybe it was too much to have a CPU like they already do and a good GPU? who knows.

Honestly, Snapdragon is fine, most people will be happy with it, heck i would be happy with it. Qualcomm's implementation is different from TI's OMAP, each company has their own take. HTC decided to go with Snapdragon while some companies like Motorola are going with TI and OMAP.

In terms of pure gaming performance, OMAP would win, but it's heavily dependent on developers and what they choose to do.

If a game relies heavily on the CPU, you can see the Snapdragon winning, if the game decides to rely more on the GPU, then you can see OMAP winning. It's mostly developers now. The problem is, with Android and all the different hardware, it's hard to specifically develop a game for one set of hardware specs. That is why Apple is so good in some terms, they only have one hardware set so everyone just develops for that and the performance can be optimized greatly with consistent and constant performance for every user.

Yeah he's probably talking about those Microsoft Project Pink phones that are supposed to drop in April.

I'd hate to be the guy manning the VZW twitter account to have to withstand the barrage of hate-tweets that come through if those get official release dates before the Incredible.
