Jelly Bean for Att... when?

They just make a higher quality device as well...and don't use cheap plastics like..ahem...Samsung...
its not cheap plastic, its the same plastic that htc uses on the one x, that everyone says feels 'premium'. and i dont like motorola phones. i think their screens are crap, the phones feels like bricks, and their software is awful. but maybe thats just me

Yeah..its the same CHEAP plastic that HTC uses on the One X lol...the S3 is far from a solid feeling device lol...

The only thing that has held Moto's phones back is the screen up to this point...

Personally, blur is easily the best of the OEM skins

Ok done arguing, this is not the place for that. I was only providing information for the people asking about jellybean before this turned into a phone contest. Your opinions will be more welcomed elsewhere

wait.. add in ..

att test and rejects .. sends back to samsung for changes/edits..
samsung and att discuss the issues...
samsung makes the necessary changes/edits...
samsung sends to att ....

rinse and repeat ..

Not to mention, AT&T gets the Jellybean source code...
All of AT&T customizations (like blocking free tethering) and AT&T Apps don't work...
So AT&T takes their time debugging their crappy bloatware and disabling of OS features ...

they own the network...and provide the first (and second, and third) line of tech support for the devices...and subsidize the cost of the device so that people can afford them...and have to replace the devices if something is wrong...

they most certainly SHOULD have a say in what is being pushed out...

And this is different from the fruit phones how? You are telling me that the Carriers dictate when Apple gets to roll out an update? Do you honestly believe that they are going over the updates so they can provide better support or testing the software to make sure its running right? If that were the case half of the cheap phones they "subsidize" would never make it to the market. They don't even handle the replacements half the time. They rely on manufacturer backing and insurance plans.

And their version of first line defense is "Huh that's strange, here is the manufacturers support number".... They did that to me 3 times in a row.

Not to mention the fact that most of the stuff THEY put on the phones doesn't work half the time..... They release updates when they are done getting around to adding their bloatware and probably when marketing says its a good time IE why release a new software update right before the biggest sales time of the year when they are trying to sell the newest stuff.....

dont psych yourself up too much...youre barely going to notice it...and if you do, its probably a psychological effect of looking for it...

personally the best feature of JB is the expanded notifications

After my CM10 upgrade it was not only noticeable on the screen to screen but opening apps. FB took a third of the time, Google Plus is faster, and so on. My phone has also been running cooler to the touch and I haven't had to clear my memory when listening to my Audiobooks (Large files) because of stuttering and skipping.

And crappy cameras. Well either that or the camera software? I loved my first atrix but my damned htc tilt took better pictures. I do think Moto feels really solid though. Although I haven't once picked up my S3 and said "this feels like I'm gonna break it" either.

Can you really tell what the phone feels like when it's in a case? Don't they just feel like the case, regardless of whether the phone's made of plastic or aluminum or glass?

moto phones would feel more "solid" or "brolic" even in case due to its metallic essence. My OG Droid feels way different (heavier and meatier) in case vs a plastic phone like the s3 :D

Can we get back on topic? This thread is about Jelly Bean and AT&T. If you're talking about something else, do it in a PM or in another thread please.

Well... now that we are back in track...

Any news about Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 in Att?

ive never put an Android phone in a case...the DX was a tank

:D yea true the DX was the top beast of its time. It actually feels more solid than a lot of the newer phones out today

to stay on topic, i dont know when jelly bean is coming out for att. Although, the canada gs3 is supposed to get it dec 3rd, and ive heard since att runs on similar bands, it should be released soon after the canadian release :smokingsomb:

No news that I have seen but I honestly think we will see it after the new year or right after xmas. Its just a hunch but I'm assuming I believe its a marketing strat to help with year end sales and push the more expensive phones while they are new. Secretly I'm hoping they got their hands on 4.2 and are polishing it up to roll out..... Not likely but one can hope right?
