[Sprint] am i the only one paying for 4glte and not getting it?

see i had it til i payed my bill lol then poof gone, i went to Gettysburg today and 4g the whole trip, as soon as i hit Hanover (hometown) poof 3g
 
They might have just been testing the network, they said that before it lit up the whole way, they would have intermittent test in future LTE cities.
 
I'm in TX (one of the initial launch cities in TX) - sprint.com/coverage shows 100% LTE coverage at (and around) my home and at (and around) my office.

I have been able to connect to LTE network for about a minute every day when I pass by the Sprint store on my way to work. That is it. My total 4G usage in the past several months (since they launched it back in July I think) has been less than 15MB.

Called Sprint and customer care said that was not right. Created a ticket to their network support team.

They called me the next day and said "Sorry, at this time, not all the towers in your area are 4G LTE enabled, and your devices will only connect to the signal from the closest tower - so, unless you are standing right next to the couple of 4G LTE towers in your area, you will NOT get the LTE signal.... oh, and no ETA. Thank you for choosing Sprint, the home of unlimited dialup"

OK, so they didn't say that last part that I italicized... :D
 
You can't rely on the sprint coverage maps. They show LTE all over Kansas City, but it is not available in all areas yet. I can get a semi-decent signal at home. No 4G in the area where I work though.
 
I just thought of this, have you checked to make sure LTE didn't get turned off somehow? Go to mobile networks and check the network mode. Make sure it says CDMA/LTE.

did everything flashed old jellybean roms to make sure the 4.2 wasnt the problem and even have cdma/lte enabled stil full 3g... its cool i looked at sprint map says my whole area up to carlise is 3g so maybe ill just have to wait, sucks cause the 4glte was blazing fast.
 
I just got this phone and since I live in a town by the name of Levelland, Texas, I got no LTE service here. Hopefully they will get around to building a LTE tower here, but sounds like it might take awhile. :(
 
Where I live, San Diego, just 3g - and it takes me back to dial up, and often just no service. Awful, just awful and yes, it is easy for you to say .... I am happy for you, I think.
 
Pittsburgh has WiMAX, I used to play with it when I was down on Pitt campus. Other than that, I kept it turned off. I haven't seen any LTE anywhere around the Burgh yet. I'm happy with what we do have tho, its fast enough for me. :)
 
I get to taste lte in the city, but the second I get to the suburbs its gone:(

Someday I'll get my moneys worth. Until then, Mizz can enjoy his lte on the couch;)
 
looks like with the purchase of clear wire we will all get lte and then some by next year. sprint will overtake verizon and at&t by 50% better network, is what i read today on google currents.

Sorry to post to this old thread, but just read an article on AP - that verizon expects their LTE network coverage to be the same as their current 3g network coverage by the end of 2013

Verizon: Our LTE Footprint Will Completely Cover Current 3G Areas By Year's End

If only their plans weren't this expensive... *Sigh*
Guess we get what we pay for ;)

When you say next year, do you mean 2013 or 2014? In any case, I can't wait to see that day.

Theres no way they'll overcome verizon in 12 months. By coverage or overall speed. It takes time to build out a national network. I'm not aware of ANY network vision city thats 100% complete.

If you've got a link to that article around, I'd love to read it.
 
Since I saw this thread again, I figured I would give an update. I was in New Orleans the other day and was getting LTE, never heard Sprint announce the opening of that market but I was getting it.

They hold off on announcing it until they've made some progress. I imagine it cuts down on all the angry customer calls from people not understanding its not just a switch they're flipping ;)

Its slowly creeping into Minneapolis right now. Starting in the outer burbs and eventually it'll make it downtown.

Sensorly is a great app for tracking its progress.

Seriously? That's the best Sprint-related news I've heard in at least six months! I'm in Minneapolis as well, and complaining about Sprint's coverage/service has become a daily occurrence.
