How long does it usually take a newly released phone to have accessories and cases/screen protectors made available? I'm interested because this is one aspect where the Nexus One is currently winning.
Not sure how long it takes, but Nexus One has been released for awhile now. Hence it's "currently winning"

I'd say pretty darn fast. Since releases are anticipated, suppliers are kept informed of dates and specs so as to have a decent amount of accessories available upon launch. Obviously, options grow over time and prices drop, but you'll have choices come launch.

Furthermore, they expect to have a unit within the next 10 days to review and plan to (still working out details with VZW) publish a review to coincide with the phone's release (similar was done with Droid release).

I'll give you a preview of the **gadget review:

"While the Incredible is probably the best android phone to date, it still lacks some features that makes the iphone so popular. With the next generation coming out of Cupertino this June, we'd have a hard time recommending anybody to take the android plunge just yet."

I swear they and gizmodo both rent space out of Apple headquarters to run their businesses.

Maybe their article should have read; "Regardless what comes out of Cupertino, we know the one feature that Apple/ATT won't be able to offer consumers is the ability to make clear calls anytime, anyplace and anywhere without getting a dropped call."

Too bad call quality offered by a network is never taken into consideration when doing these reviews. All the latest features in the world will not make up for this device being unable to do what it was designed to do.....make a phone call.

***Edit for Apple Fanbois

Before anyone starts flaming, I owned the iphone for approx 2 years before moving to the Droid......so save it

I'll just bet on many good options becoming available over time, assuming they're not available immediately. Unless a subsidized Nexus One becomes available tomorrow, I'll probably buy the Incredible with no regrets.

or something like MobileMe where you can use a computer to see the gps location on a map
isnt there a service called family finder or something from verizon saw it in a commercial. But you basicly want loJack for your phone. do not know why that couldnt become a app.
text your phone with a code then the phone could text/email you with the GPS location in Long and Lat or maybe even google map. way beyond my skillz

You must have an alert set-up for when your name gets mentioned... or you have a 6th sence...

(see what I did there? Oh ya... even in 6pt font):D

Whoa! You have over 200 posts in a short time! I just figured it out... You're after my job!

I am too tired to go back and read. I was on during my son's nap earlier, but looks like I missed a lot. Could ya'll catch me up?

I got the Eris and the Droid online because I did not want to fool with a rebate. If this has a rebate in store I don't care, where do I sign, how much do you want, just give me the phone so I can walk out with it!

Pre-sale means it's available online before you can get it in stores. So you would get it first, plus instant rebate.

And I didn't even blast any fanfare about it *cough* ...who would do that... *cough*

Actually, I thought about editing my 200th...

And in short. Yes. I'm after you gramps! :p;)
Suprisingly, the 1st hundred took the longest.
