hey folks this is my first post and im wondering if any one has heard or read anything about the saygus v phone. some one i know has hit me up to invest in this company so im doin a lil research on them first. any one ever seen or heard of someone that has seen the vphone in working order. they seem to be claiming they can service two way vid at a lower bandwidth with a faster blah blah blah so any info you have would be helpful thanks

I have been following (or attempting to anyway) the Saygus VPhone since it was announced at CES in January. This is also when I got first wind of the Incredible.

I have actually spoken to someone at Saygus only once in early February. I have made repeated calls to them since then only to receive what seems to be a voice mail for a cell phone which their main number gets forwarded to. They told me in February their phone had passed Verizon certification. I have clients who would be interested in that phone and its capabilities and wanted to learn more about it. I have yet to receive a returned call for any of the numerous messages I have left.

I saw earlier today on some link that was posted here a roundup of all upcoming Verizon phones. The VPhone was one of them with an expected release of May 2010. This is the ONLY place I have seen that.

I have grown very suspect of this company and would hesitate before doing ANY investing. Any company who cannot return a simple business call regarding their product(s) deserves close scrutiny. I have not been able to find much on this company other than what they say about themselves on their site and a couple of interviews they have done at trade shows. They claim to have some proprietary video compression software. If true, this could have its uses in the mobile arena.

I remain suspect of any company which cannot or will not return business calls. The Incredible is a far superior phone manufactured by a far more reputable company as well, so, I won't be getting a personal VPhone even if it came out tomorrow.

So this turned out to be perfect.

I bought the Droid on 3/30 with the intention that if this is released while I am allowed to return it, I will, if not then i'll just keep it. I have really enjoyed the Droid, its a nice phone. The incredible can only be better. So, if it is actually released on the 29th of April, that will be my last day to exchange it, and that will be perfect.

I will start volunteering myself to unload the trucks starting next week, maybe I can find the phone in one of the trucks. We get trucks on Monday's and Wednesday's, so it will probably be on the 19th, 21st, 26th, or 28th trucks. Probably 19th or 21st.

Maybe ill just to convince them to sell it to me early somehow! :p

Thanks for all the information and input everyone has put in, it was truly awesome.

LOVE that app- one of the first I downloaded..

Not saying I lose my phone a lot or anything......

;)

I know for a fact that I'll have that app day 1. My phone is practically always on vibrate, so it'll be essential for me as I've been late for class / work numerous times because of phone misplacements. Haha

God that is a cool application. I cannot wait to finally get an Android. Right now my market is offering an early upgrade to a smart phone (would have to wait until June), but the offer ends on 5/1/10. I really hope this phone comes out this month like it is rumored to.

its still very suspect to me although greg merten seems is the ceo and if you google him he was some big exec for hp and he was the head of the inkjet project when it was first coming out also krishna rao is rumored to be the cfo and from what i find on him hes no joke either. theres another guy involved named tim riker who i havent found much on

Aahhhh, thanks. I guess that's what she meant by "based on your account status..."

I wonder what features it lacks that the iPhone has:
1) The dropped call feature
2) The lack of rural coverage feature
3) The closed app approval feature
4) The remove your app from the store because it'll compete with our app feature
Or perhaps another one I'm forgetting ....................

5) The iCan't-Even-Take-The-Battery-Out-Of-My-Phone feature (in very high demand these days- an absolute MUST for a smartphone)..

6) The iCan't-Even-Take-My-Phone-To-My-Provider-For-Service feature (see #5 above)

7) The iDon't-Multi-task feature (I've been wanting a phone that does this for SOOO long..)

:D

Even if it doesn't, get a Droid, and that buys you another 30 days

As I've posted before my wife bought her Storm from VZW online and when it failed she took it to the corporate store which told her she didn't buy it from vzw online and that she had been redirected to somone else that sold her the phone. I would never trust them buying it online.

Moron.. Online purchases are completely 100% serviceable, returnable, etc. in-store... The rep probably noticed the location code of where it was purchased, realized it wasn't a VZW corporate store, and told her she got it at a retailer, without bothering to do his homework and find out that particular location code belongs to the online warehouse..

I apologize for his utter ignorance and general stupidity...

:p

Yeah I probably will if it doesn't come out. I just hate putting my information on a phone and then having to clear everything right away. I would have got the Droid in a second if people didn't keep telling me the keyboard was useless. That led me to search for another phone, and then I found this one.

I really screwed up. I've been watching YouTube videos of android apps for about 15 minutes now. I can't believe I've put up with the EnV Touch this long.

Shooooot, I can't believe I've put up with this MOTORIZR Z6tv for this long.

Same phone I got. And remember the TV Ads when the enV touch came out advertising all the great apps? Talk about false advertisement :(

Here's a refresher:

YouTube - Verizon NV Touch & NV3 Commercial - Redo

"I'd never use that stuff" - I know I never have used this phones "apps"

God yeah I was annoyed with how they handled that. There are maybe four free apps available, and none of them are very good. It is a great text messaging phone, but that's about it. I'm glad it will be demoted to my backup here in a few weeks hopefully.

Agreed. Amazing text messaging phone, but that's about it. This phone was my first experience with "threaded" text messages too. I can never go back to the old way. Haha.

I keep thinking how ridiculous people are going to think we are in 10 years when they go back and look at our old posts about the Incredible and the HTC Midas (TM) will be out with built in 1080p projector, fuel cell battery, quad-core mobile processing, and 360/PS3 graphics processing capabilities.

We are so excited about this phone now, the phones of the future are going to be insane... well that's if we do get over the only bottleneck in technology today: the battery.

I probably should stop doing drugs and sleep occasionally. :D;)

Battery problem solved:

You forgot to mention the 8 cell external solar panel with another 8 internal for backup power, that will be available on the Midas..

:p

Can't wait for the announcement. Went from 2 pages of thread a day to 20.

Gimme the specs, Baby. Gimme the specs!

ur correct....... It is amazing no matter what anyone says about this thread...
90% of all Internet news about the Incredible is coming from this thread if not more. Complain all you want about Steven58 but he is the one that coax'ed all the lurkers out and they have giving us news as well as backing up sources.

What irks me that all these sites say that "there sources are telling them blah blah blah" when you know that are getting there info from reading this thread. At least one of the sites yesterday gave Kappy props for posting the best buy add info.

Okay listen everyone BIG NEWS....

I'M FINALLY OFF PROBATION FRIDAY EVENING! 4:03pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With great power comes great responsibility...use it wisely. Next stop...Banlandia...a bit cramped but still some vacancy.

Looks like from all the buzz on the Internet today, we should be able to exchange our F5 button in for an HTC Incredible on April 29th at Best Buy and Verizon Stores...
