maybe VZW will announce a device each day for six days starting on Monday and the Incredible will be the last one announced????
Save the best for last?!?!
I want this so bad, my only problem is that I can pay on full retail since I cant get the NE2 option.
I just looked on verizon's website and it has the HTC Imagio for $579 full retail. Does that mean the Incredible will be like $700 since it is so much better.
As stated by others Best Buy has it listed for $599 but you might be able to get a coupon or some other special to bring the price down. Also I understand that authorized retailers are allowed to set their own pricing so you might be able to find it somewhere for less $$. Also call CS and see what they can do. Sometimes they'll give you in between pricing with a little bit extra off with new contract agreement.
Please know that this pains me more then you know. I am not trolling, so lets get that out of the way. If you look at all of my posts I have been more then helpful up until this post. Just no one calls fall play this is on topic. Without further delay.
I have taking the time to read over the PDF file that we where given. There are allot of discrepancies. More then Verizon would ever allow. More over the PDF should have been created by HTC, being that its a HTC product. I would like to note that I have my doubts now if the phone will come with the 8Gb moviNAND. Reason being is if that PDF is correct then there is no mention. But if its a fake then we have yet to see any solid proof of the memory. Other then a couple testers who have yet to determine if the phone was misreading the SD card even when removed. Do remember that even test phones have bugs. The other thing I have found while going through the PDF is allot of bad references. One section mentions SD card expandable to 16Gb while another will say 32.
What I think I am trying to get at is I would think that the end of the month release maybe true. But people have had plenty of time to create a multitude of bogus info. If that info is placed well enough it can be mistaken for fact rather then fiction. Please don't flame me for taking precaution. I heed you all to take precaution in trusting all these fast leaking rumors and "facts". There maybe allot of disappointment in the future.
Meanwhile I hope this phone is just as it says. Incredible
Every manual I've ever gotten from VZW regardless of manufacturer was branded VZW on the manual. So you can't read anything into that...if anything, it's a good sign that it's real. Could be a draft version as well that someone leaked and not a final version. Plus, I've gotten sooooo many manuals over the past few years that have spelling and other errors that it's rather amazing.
On my way to the Verizon store to get a new battery for my LG Dare and will try to get some NEW information on the INC. I want the INC but like the actual keyboard of the Touch Pro 2. All the varying release dates and "rumors" "leaks" "unauthorized info", etc. is driving me insane - LITERALLY!!!
Question??? Just found this video of porting Android 2.1 on the Touch Pro2. . .isn't this the best of both worlds . . .if I get the TP2 and add Android 2.1 I get the best everything I want . . .no?? Plus the best key board on a cell phone EVER!!
Please comment on the pros and cons on this. . .been lurking on the site and know that their are several people on this thread that can give me some good advise on if this is a good move or not . . .getting impatient. My NE2 was March 26th and I am an instant gratification kinda guy.
Check out this link and please, please, please respond!!
PLEASE HELP!!!
YouTube - Android on an HTC Touch Pro2
Personally, I'd wait. If you want an Android device then get an device designed from the ground up for Android. Otherwise your need for "instant gratification" will end up with no gratification in the long run and the need to do A LOT of extra work to get it functional. But in the end, it's all up to you.
Hey, sorry if someone has already answered your question...I skimmed the last several pages quickly and didn't see where anyone had, but I could've easily missed it too...on my way out of town and as usual I'm running late!
VZW has given me that bank of minutes in the past as well. It has been a few years, so it's possible that things could've changed, but I found out too late what the caveat was: that bank was ONLY good on the primary line! So any of the additional lines that went over were billed at $.40/min (or whatever the rate at that time was). I was shocked when I got a huge bill and called to inquire, and that's when they explained that it wasn't a shared bank of minutes. They did reverse the overage charges though.
Another thing to think about is, are you not nearing your 1400 minutes because of the 10 free numbers? That's the situation I'm in. I have 5 lines, and we're only using around 1/3 of our 1400 minutes, but if I were to bump it down to 700 and lose the free numbers, we'd go waaay over. Annoying how they get you there, isn't it?!
Oh, and I have my Eris box/receipt and brought my old enV3 along in case I decide to stop at Verizon on the way back into town so I can use my upgrade for the Incredible. To steal your phrase: "(see how I got that back on topic there)

" LOL!
You KNOW that the store will be calling to you ALL DAY to return it! You won't have a moment of peace until you do. You know you have to have the Incredible!
Thanks. . .just a temporary lack of will to wait for the INC . . .on my way to the VZW store. . . cross your fingers for me that my will doesn't break again and I don't walk out with something that I don't want!!!
NOOOOOOO, don't do it!!!! Hold out just a little longer...
Is it possible that the user's guide was a draft copy and not the final, anyone?
That's what I was wondering. I could see it being much easier to leak than a final version.
Little concerned that the usb port and the volume rocker are on the same side- How will this work for docks ( specifically desktop cradles)? Say if you want to listen to music/watch videos while you have the phone in a dock you would not be able to easily access the volume control.
Perhaps the dock will have a volume control on it?
That's what I was thinking. It would be nice if it did have built in volume control.
hey guys. so i have an enV2 now...and when this comes out. how much will it be a month? $30? or more? i have never had a smart phone. so idk if it is just the $30 they advertise, or if its some more but they don't tell you right away.
what does the $30 (or more) plan get you?
so what if im on a family plan. can my dad pay what he's paying now for talk and unlimited text. plus $30 on top of it and i'll be all set?
As others have said unlimited access to the internet, email, apps, etc from THE PHONE (ie not tethering). It's a straight add on of $30/per line for the data plan on top of whatever voice plan you have...family or otherwise.
so if i'm buying this phone online.... what do i have to do to get it up and running, activated, able to use on the network, put my contacts from my old phone on it, etc..
i never bought a phone online
I bought my last one online and the process was completely painless. I believe they've made it even easier now. Basically you dial in to over the air programming and it's pretty much automatic, though I want to say there's also an online option but not sure how that works. Don't remember now if I had to call into CS when I did my last one (I think I did but it was because I wanted to change my number to a different area code as we had moved) and the whole process took literally minutes and was completely painless. NOT something to stress over. ANYONE can do it.
As far as contacts go, if you're signed up for My Verizon (online access to your account), I think they can backup all your contacts online (for free...usually $1.99/mo if you don't have My VZW) and then you could download them to your new phone. If you use Google contacts, you can just sync them to your phone which is what I plan to do.
BTW, don't forget that you can use your Google Voice account for unlimited texting for free and not have to pay that through VZW. In fact, by dropping my $10 texting fee and $15 unlimited dumbphone data fee, my data plan will net me only $5 more/month.
