Do you have anything in regards to the internal memory that has come out and been put to print AFTER the testing phase?

I only know from a source as recently as a few days ago who works for verizon, has the phone, and is testing the phone that it has the 8 GB of internal storage and shows up as two mounted drives.

Folks, i've been contacted by someone who is a long time friend of our thread and forum with a theory regarding the reported (and doubted) 8 GB moviNAND internal storage on the Incredible. He decided to put together a brief 1-pager explaining his theory and it happens to be the same theory i've had all along so i'm posting it for further consumption by others.

I'll post his ppt (converted to pdf for uploading), but in summary the theory is:
1 GB of app storage (locked from users)
6-7 GB of other internal storage for storing music, movies, etc... (seen a discrete drive when mounted via USB)
And of course your MicroSDHC card (which would be another discrete drive when mounted via USB)

This theory is also supported by another source who tells me the internal storage and MicroSDHC are seen as different drives when mounted.

Thanks again friend, you know who you are! ;)
so if app piracy is the concern, is it possible that some day free apps could be saved to a microSD card?

Something about the Macaroni Grill would be appropriate. I swear Steven58 has stock in it or something based on how much free advertising he gives them.:)

Steven, Just for you, in celebration of my 200th post, I would like to take you to the Macaroni Grill and have great food, a few beers, and chat about the Incredible.:D:D:D:D:D

The reason why I am asking about the time of the information is because in your presentation post (aka friends theory post), its just using screen shots from a month ago as seen here: http://androidforums.com/432226-post5961.html.
Back then there was confusion as different sources reported yes and no on internal sources. By confusion I mean you yourself were confused.

so essentially my contacts would have to have my current cell phone number (for calls, especially if they have verizon - free calling) plus my google voice number for texting??

If you want to do it that way you can. But if you do some reading, the general consensus online is that if someone from VZW calls your GV number, your VZW phone still recognizes that it's coming from another VZW number and still counts as mobile to mobile minutes. I only use my GV number anymore so I don't have to worry about it. It's really up to you how you use it. But yes, they'd have to text your GV number for it to work.

Varaonaid: I'm trying to figure out if I can get by w/o paying the texting fee, so thanks for this tip. However, looking at the GoogleVoice setup screens, the only place I see a checkbox for "Send a text (SMS) message to:" is under the Voicemail notification section. Unchecking that box seems to avoid an SMS when I get voicemail, but not clear where I can indicate not to send any SMS to my mobile phone. Help?

Settings > Phones > click the 'Edit' button for your mobile phone.

Leave "Receive SMS on this phone (mobile phones only)" unchecked to prevent Google Voice from sending SMS to your real mobile number. You will receive SMS via the Google Voice app on your phone.

You would only want the above option checked if you are using a feature phone so that you could receive SMS sent to your Google Voice number.

Yep,, what they said! ^^^^ And as they said, you can use the GV app instead of email if you like.

^^^ That is such a good idea!!! I hate giving my number out! A lot of "men" get straight up rude when you don't want to hand over your digits!!!
I usually give the unwanteds the number to the Waffle House, but I'm sure that the Waffle House on Old National (don't ask which Waffle House b/c there's like 500 on that road) is tired of people calling and asking for Trinisha (<- not my real name, it's my 'round the way girl name). Now I can give my GoogleVoice number and if they 'test call' to see if its real it'll work!!
I'm testing this out tonight while I'm visting my parents. I have to go out tonight and my GoogleVoice experiment will keep me busy while I sneak peek at this thread! My friend has a dumbphone and gets all kinda bitchy when I do anything on my phone...

Another great thing about GV is the filtering option(s). If you give out the number and don't want to be bothered by that person anymore, you can block them and they will get a "number no longer in service" message so that you'll never hear from them again. :D

Confirmed to nerds means that we heard something and we like it.

i.e. It has been confirmed that the Incredible will have a 1.9GHz dual core processor
or
The incredible is rumored to have a 800MHz processor.

If I'm right the manual states the Incredible supports the Bluetooth handsfree profile which would mean that it CAN do Bluetooth initiated voice dialing.

Anyone like to confirm this?

It's on page 138...

So dudes that walk around with there pants on the ground, lookin' a fool will now get filtered & BLOCKED!!!! (Some of y'all may think I sound crazy but it's 10x easy to give some kinda number than give 47 reasons why you don't want to..I've tried saying I'm engaged marry have 12 kids by 11 baby daddy's but some dudes are just too persistent..

I wish the INCREDIBLE had a TASER built in!!

Hello, forgive me if this has already been asked/commented upon:

But with all the info about Google Voice I've read here today, I decided to go ahead and get ready (didn't want to wait, so I bought the invite from Ebay for $3.09)

Now I already noticed right away in using Google Voice there is no more "voicemail notification" on your phone screen like you would normally get. Instead you receive a text and you actually have to (speed)dial your new Google Voice number later in order to actually hear the message (it will also play back on your gmail through your computer). I would have liked to have some voicemail notification, though and hopefully Google will add that as a feature as time goes on.

A couple things:

I've noticed the transcription hasn't been correct yet, and I've been leaving pretty straightforward test messages. So you really are going to need to hear the message after reading the text, because thus far you can't really trust the transcriptions, unless I'm doing something wrong?

I figured on canceling the Verizon text package and just receiving the texts as emails, as everyone else has pointed out, and you'll save $10/month, and was wondering what the difference would be (pros and cons) between reading them straight from pushed Gmail or using and Android App instead?

Thanks!!!

Oh yeah, I should have said devices, sorry. Some people were speculating on the which devices a couple of pages ago. 5 phones and a netbook or something like that. As long as I get a firm announcement next week, Ill sleep much better.

Would the "netbook" be the Dell Mini 5? I will take that over the HTC Incredible!!!

No, it doesn't have to be one of your F&F numbers. GV has the option to send SMS's received via GV to email now. Since the data plan/Android supports PUSH gmail, you get your texts instantly via email. You can reply to the email and it sends it via your GV number so the recipient sees your GV number not your email address. It's really quite simple. Just remember to uncheck the box to send SMS to your mobile phone or it will send it to both email and SMS and you'll get charged for the texts. I currently have it doing both since I have a texting plan but will drop to data only when I get the Inc. I hope I explained that adequately. It's actually wicked simple to setup and if you're around your laptop it's fantastic to be able to just reply to an SMS that comes into your email on your laptop keyboard because it's faster than typing on a little phone keyboard.

No need to send GV SMS to email now. The newest android app does push notification. Now if you wanted to keep it all in GMail that's one thing, but you don't need to anymore .

I use Chrome and there is a google voice extension that lets you send and reply to SMS from the extension, as well as make calls.
