She is going to call him back and be like,

"Sir I can do this for you, I can give you 10% off any charger for your Pre" lol

Its sad that they dont know about the evo. They should all be informed about all phones that sprints have specially this one.

LOL.... Yea she'll be all like.. "Sir I think we were disconnected before I could offer you some valuable savings on PRE accessories LMAOO... Oh by the way, before were you asking about the Hero?? LOL... No I said Evo!! Maybe you need a new head set or perhaps a Pre Bluetooth headset for your self so you can hear me!!! HAHAHA... :D

So I got an email saying that skype is available on Verizon for Verizon and Android phones which doesn't make sense b/c alot of those phones don't have front-facing cameras... do you guys think that since the EVO has a front camera that they will make skype available for it too on Sprint?

EDIT: Well I guess they could use the IM portion of it.
Hi ashtx07. Right now, we don't know what software is being developed for the front facing camera, but the rumors are that Sprint will have some type of video conferencing software available when the EVO 4G is released. Skype might be a part of that, but even if it isn't, it's only a matter of time. I really believe a lot of development will be going into using the EVO 4G with VoIP as it's a natural fit for a phone that's able to run in 4G. Last November, Google bought Gizmo5, a VoIP firm and that will eventually play into the equation. For those without 4G, video conferencing should also work well with a WiFi connection.

I have been reading this post for sometime now and I would like to thank everyone for the great info. Going to try to get EVO week one! I hope

Check this out anyone notice the banner add EVO phone back is not black

You have two links in your Best Buy link, so it didn't bring up the right website.

This is what you wanted: Mobile Phones
As for the color, personally I think that the color looks different due to lighting. That or they changed it a little bit so that the black battery cover on the black frame of the EVO would kind of blend together. That's just what I think, at least.

It looks metallic blue to me. Maybe Best Buy will have their own exclusive colors? I hope they have a metallic red one.

i occassionaly will park next to a sprint store and mooch off their mifi. Caught one of the employees leaving his shift and asked him what he heard about EVO. He sounded clueless and all he said was "summer". I don't think they have any inside info, at least at the ground level. A store owner, perhaps

Sorry if this has been posted before....lurking in these forums can take it's toll. I provide the following link to a very interesting article. Along with a great collection of photos at the end it also addresses WiMax speed in Las Vegas during CTIA. Like I said...I'm sure this isn't new stuff...but a good read and might be nice for some of the newer people arriving here. It has me "revved" up! I especially like the mention of how Google Maps runs at 4G speeds. Btw...I just decided to run some searches to see what has been said and what is being said about this phone. Anyway you slice it...this is going to be one killer phone! It's still amazes me there isn't more of a buzz....but I bet after release people are going to want this phone bad....and the Incredible folks may indeed be sorry they signed a contract before giving this phone consideration. Here's the link...

Having a few "better features" like slightly larger screen, higher res camera, etc. are very short term features that will fade away as Apple introduces their future devices. This whole schoolyard bully talk of "mine is bigger than yours" is not a sustainable business model. It has already been noted that this thing is so large that it won't fit easily into your pocket, it doesn't have the amazing Apple ecosystem behind it, nor the incredible app network, and 4G is a non-starter as there are barely any locations that actually have 4G service. And the battery life is going to be laughable. So the whole thing is a big "so what".

Is that a droid with a stylized rear casing? These companies are all the same. The only way they can one up Apple is by "throwing in everything, but the kitchen sink". Their app stores are pitiful, their OS is pitiful, and their 3rd party accessory following is pitiful.

If these companies were smart they would start from the ground up and try to copy the eco system. They simply continue to release device after device, which when you flood the market with that many different models your bound to make some money, but at what cost?

Nope, no FCC clearance yet. The release is still a couple of months away.

Yes, but the purported announcement of the release date is less than a week away. Is Sprint going to feel comfortable announcing a release date, and starting the rumored advertising campaign, when the phone hasn't cleared FCC yet? I realize that FCC approval is typically a formality, but its a necessary formality nonetheless.

You're not alone. The banner ad DEFINITELY looks metallic blue. I love it! Looks awesome! If that's exclusive to Best Buy, I may have no choice but to buy from there.

That's interesting, so power consumption will be lower than the older screens other HTC phones use, couple that with the 1500 mAh battery (as opposed to the standard 1300 or 1400 of other phones) and I think we really may not have to worry too much about running through the battery too quickly.

Perhaps the bigger battery and more efficient touch-screen will make it up for the fact that AMOLED supposedly saves on 20% power.

I'll likely still buy another battery anyway.

In the video link about touchscreen chip technology (someone posted a while back), they said it could be 90% more efficient on touch power, but yes, hard to say how much that really effects the overall power of phone use. Still, if they are working that hard on improvements for touch, where else have they improved? It would be funny if this thing came with like 10 hours of talk time :)

I currently have an AT&T account which ends in the middle of August. I'm definitely getting the EVO so I was wondering if I will be charged an early termination fee when I sign up for Sprint in June?

Any ideas to get around this? Some say Sprint gives new customers $150 discount or covers early termination fee's if you switch over to them.
Back in 2008 I left At&t and I got charged for early termination fee via at&t..but I am very glad I switched to Sprint. And I can't wait to upgrade from my pre to evo4g.

thanks for posting. the only accessories i'll need are -

1. car charger - $30
2. extra wall charger - work - $40
3. extra wall charger - travel bag - $40

i'm a minimalist and i like to keep it simple.

questions -

1. any recommendations on significantly cheaper but high quality OEM accessory sources alternatives? is it even worth it to pursue? i don't want to jeopardize damaging the device or the hassles of wrong voltage/compatibility and returns.
2. do Premier customers still get an accessory discount? what %? how? i think last year they gave us a card for 25% off???

Looks like sprint is going all out with the EVO 4g....

HTC EVO 4G to get boatload of accessories in Sprint stores -- Engadget

With the car dock coming out, why buy a gps? I cant wait to get my hands on some of these accessories. And i really cant wait till i get my hands on the EVO.

i use my built in Lexus NAV all the time while i'm on the phone. i wouldn't want to not be able to easily use/talk on my phone while i use the NAV and vice versa - of course 4G may make that somewhat of a moot point. also - i don't like car docks or any kind of contraptions/suction cups/wires etc. cluttering up my car's interior.

Yeah thats true. Me and my fiancee just test drove a Lexus rx and we wouldn't need it on that car, But on the car i'm driving right now it would be helpful.
