Take your fights to PMs. Keep your bickering out of this thread. If somebody says something that offends you or you think is off-topic, ignore it. I know for many of you this is probably the first forum you have ever visited, but on the internet we try to keep the same manners you would have at the dinner table.

I am tired of coming back to this thread only to see pages upon pages of off-topic, useless, idiotic posts of people attempting to insult each other. Grow up.

There are other threads where you may discuss the "Evo vs Incredible" and "Sprint vs Verizon" topics. This thread is limited to debate about the Incredible, not a battlefield for you to send your text-based attacks.

In other news, was it ever discovered why there is a black backplate accessory? The phone already has one, does it not?
It's an extended battery door, so I imagine they're just pointing it out that it's black.... since it's possible to change it, I'm thinking that HTC/an HTC partner (Superior) will have things available like the designer replacements for the tattoo, etc. You will prolly end up with multiple color options.

I was looking through the accessories today on vzw.com and there were quite a few backplates for various phones available- don't know maybe people loose them, break them, let their kids chew on them????? kinda strange but ......

Alright I am ready for my battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
As you can see I even changed my avatar just for you.

ROFL!

I actually think that might be the reason for the contoured back panel. The area with the speaker opening doesn't extend out as far as other areas of the backplate. If it is laid on it's back on a table, the area where the speaker hole is located would be clear of the surface it was lain on. If the surface is reflective it may amplify the sound, but if it is laid on something like a couch or bed it might be muffled. Just have to wait and see.

Interesting theory...

I am currently saving up for an extended battery and the best screen protector, so I can buy both at once when I get the phone. I want NOTHING to be wrong with this phone, ever. (BTW, I am 20, in college, with a minimum wage, 23 hour a week job. Yes, I have to save up. lol)

Don't worry, a lot of folks will have to!

Where is everyone buying their phone? Verizon Corporate location, indirect, or best buy?

I've always got my equipment from a corporate store, but may consider best buy as they have an instant rebate. But the thought of going to worst buy if I encounter a problem with the hardware is not a happy one.

Aren't you concerned with customer service though if you encounter any problems with the hardware, at say an indirect compared to a corporate store?

I believe that (after the first 30 days) all phones are treated the same with regards to VZW corporate store service. Take it in, get it fixed/swapped.

Where I buy will depend on price, who lets me use my NE2, and who has it first.

does anyone know if the incredible will allow us to play a video from the phone and watch it on the tv?

No, no video out of any kind has been talked about at all in any of the rumored specs.

it's getting a little hostile in here

Agreed.

Indeed! This is Martin Cooper, inventer of the cell phone. He was born in 1928, and he uses a Droid right now :)

Absolutely fantastic! Loved both of these!

It's an extended battery cover...we think it's slightly larger to accommodate the 2150mah extended battery.

(and yes, I know it's a long post)

Stop right there. There isn't a phone that has similar specs to the Evo. Put aside the screen size, the larger battery, the dual cameras, the 1GB ROM and 8GB internal storage, the rumored Froyo debut, and the built-in wifi hotspot ... no phone -- repeat, NO PHONE -- can compete with 4G. Its like ... a whole other G added to 3G. ;)

If you're in a 4G city and you pass on the Evo, then I have no sympathy for you and your impending buyer's remorse.

First of all, the Evo doesn't have 8GB internal storage, but the Incredible DOES. And as far as "NO PHONE" competing with Sprint's 4G, Tmobile's 3G network will be faster than Sprint's 4G lol.

I guess it depends if you like to figure things out yourself or if you need someone to guide you.

As far as Verizon vs Best buy - I tend to stay away from Best Buy but that's me. Maybe Best Buy would be a good choice for you though. *shrug

Good luck!

In fact my 1st question is pre-purchase; My local Verizon store stated purchase included set-up and training of phone use, is the training worth the additional $50 +/- Verizon may charge vs. Best Buy etc. for the initual phone purchase.

It is strange if you think about it T-Mobile the smallest footprint...yet the fastest 3G.

Verizon the largest footprint...yet the slowest 3G

Great to know. Thanks. How "clear" are they (the Best Skins Ever)?

They're as clear as any others, but have a littel more 'grip' feeling on them.

You'll find that everyone has a preference, but most are close enough to being the same that I'm not sure which one you get really matters. You can have them do it when you see them at most malls. Also, you can dicker on price, they usually charge 25-30 dollars for a full front/back/side install
