Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10.1, AOKP42)

Finally got GPS working on my GB based device (see other thread). This gets us one step closer to fixing GPS on CM10.1/AOKP42. If nothing else, at least I can debug the issue here instead of relying on logs from other users.

My GPS works at least on aokp41. If it would help i could send you a nandroid or dd my device and send you the image if it would help.

Sent from my VS920 4G

Does anyone know how to disable the capacitive buttons (while still having a way to re-enable them)? Also, I've noticed that my phone gets very hot while charging without me using it, this wasn't a problem on CM10. Does anyone know the cause of this?

You don't need to use adb. Open a terminal window and cat the file, them copy the result here.

well this is what i've got - - installing: /sdcard/download/quattrimus-iproj-cm10-rc4.zip

I guess I'll need to add that build id.

What vendor version are you on? That is, what "official" android version were you running last, and what was the reported baseband version in that system?

did you ever find out if aokp42 has photosphere tdm? Also I was wondering how aokp42 ran in comparison with cm10.1 as far as smoothness goes. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

beta2 is up, along with aokp42. Be sure to note that the display does not blank yet on aokp42 so it's really not usable yet.

Also pushed all the device repos.

I haven't gotten GPS to work on CM10.1 yet. Once that is fixed, we can shoot for official support (again).

whats changed in beta 2 tdm? I've been running beta 1 since you dropped it and it's very good with the exception of gps not working and the delay when turning on the the screen. Did you happen to sort out the screen on delay? thanks

The scripting stuff from cm10 rc5.

The gb gps libs.

Code sync from today. I don't have a change log but I don't remember seeing anything major.

tdm or IMUcarmen, what if you just make a custom or modified file of the camera app for 4.2 with a modified 4.1 camera in the 4.2 gapps package, thus you insert the code for photosphere in the 4.1 camera app and then reinsert that into the gapps in which you flash. I cant see what that will do though

or couldn't you use a camera with preinstalled photosphere and then replace the camera app in the 4.2 package, but also changing the data so that it will work with our device, idk just speculation

I already tried flashing a version of the 4.2 camera with photosphere but it doesnt work. It just crashes everytime I open it.

not sure where to post bug reports but wanted to tell you the few things I've experienced in the past week.

1. 1-2 second delay when turning screen on

2. weird graphic flickers on certain animations. Not like those we've seen on this phone before though. These flickers are different but kind of hard to explain.

3. I found a new bug this morning while recording video. I switched the default camera to 1080p recording and it crashed. Now everytime I open it it immediately crashes. I also have JB camera + so opened it up and switch it to 1080p recording and it too crashed, but I was able to open it back up and record a video which worked great and played back fine, but after I watched the video it crashed the gallery. And now I'm getting very strange UI glitches and flickering in my launcher which is ADW EX. I'm sure a restart will resolve it. And I'm sure all I need to do to get the default camera to work again is the remove the apk from system and then restart and put one back in and restart.

hope this helps. Other than that it's run great for me. Not one restart in the week I've used it.

There are drivers needed for photosphere that don't exist for our device. It would take some pretty knowledgeable hacking to even begin getting it to work on the spectrum.

Changelog for cm10.1 beta2:
http://getquattrimus.com/roms/quattrimus/iproj/changelog-cm10.1-b2.txt

Haven't ran this long enough to notice the screen on delay but I'll look into it.

I had screen delay in Beta 1 and continuing onto Beta 2. Its a small inconvenience when hanging up the phone because if the screen goes black during a call it takes a bit to get the screen to come back to get to the end call button.

Same holds true for lock screen, hit power, wait, screen turns on, wipe to unlock.

I think I encountered the wake lag once, but I assumed I didn't press the button right. It maybe happened twice while I used cm10.1. Not a major inconvenience for me.

Is there also a way to get weather conditions back on the lockscreen as well as upcoming events like we had in 10.0?

Those are options in the cLock lockscreen widget. You should be able to find it under lockscreen settings and then choose clock widget.

@death: Is CM10.1 still using chronus? I thought they switched to cLock. I guess I should try out straight cm10.1 now being as I've only used roms that are derivatives and/or use parts of it up until now.

Almost ready to fire up nightly builds. I just need to commit the scripting changes to minimize merge conflicts.

Note the nightly builds will be distributed as rdiff files against the latest beta. This keeps bandwidth requirements to a minimum. I wrote an app called RomKeeper to automatically download and apply the rdiff delta. I'll resurrect this at the appropriate time.
