Root CM 10.1 Nightlies Discussion

Only thing I see so far is with Bluetooth. Connected headset with no problems. It was connected for about 30 or 40 minutes. Made first phone call and at the end of the call I pressed the hang - up button on the headset and seconds later I hear "phone 1 disconnected". Checking the phone, bluetooth is turned off and I won't turn back on.

Otherwise, nice and smooth! :)

I have never had a device with official cm support prior to this one. When dealing with nightlies, do you have to download the full ~165mb file and flash that every time or is there a different way to just apply the small changes? Props again to TDM, Death, Neph, and the many others who helped make this happen whose phandroid names i cannot currently remember. Thanks!

Full ROM every time.

It's working with RomManager already!

It should also work with CMUpdater.

All future updates should be flashable through "settings-about phone-CyanogenMod updates".

You can check them daily there, if you wish and download/flash them through that same settings applet.

Aside from it missing an easy "get gapps here", it's pretty near flawless for testing nightlies and milestones.

(I am running nightlies on both my G'Nex and nX...and as soon as I get home, my Spectrum.)

tdm: This may get said often, but never enough: You Sir, do ever-so-rock this world. Thank you!

New update, downloaded and installed from settings, about phone, worked great!

Do they list changes for specific devices somewhere?

I also installed the new 20130301 GAPPS, everything is working fine so far.

I believe you have to look on the gerrit review they use for the code to see what got commited and what was device specific that got commited.

I don't believe they generate any sort of changelog for nightlies since they're *technically* for internal testing to see if the code builds. They just happen to put them up for public use.

Running now. Nothing I have noticed yet besides the Bluetooth issue. Got some screen freeze and lock on YouTube where I had to pull battery. On the new gapps. Not sure if this is ROM related as of yet. Think I remember it happening on multiple ones including stock.

Battery drained from 100% to 44% overnight, a little better than the preview (think it went down to 37%). Only thing running was WiFi. I'll try turning WiFi off tonight and see how big a difference that makes.
Battery does seem to last a lot longer while using the phone, was messing with it most of the day yesterday and didn't have to plug it in till about 7pm.

Wifi Internet access seems to work but ES file explorer which can access lan shares and nzb360 which can access sabnzbd over the lan both do not. I switched to zv7 to check and they both work.

Can anybody verify that wifi access via a 3rd party app works or not?

Been using juice defender. Only lost 7% overnight with data and Wi-Fi off besides 15 min pings. Airplane mode won't schedule right for me. Enables and disables right after. The drain is definitely something to do with the Wi-Fi.

I remember back in the brokenout rom days on gingerbread I could go over night without even using airplane mode and lose less than 5 percent. There was one time I was still at 100 percent when I woke up (sure miss having mt around making roms). Typically these days with airplane mode enabled I'll lose around 7 percent overnight; without using airplane mode I lose around 30 percent. But I think that is mostly due to the weak signal strength in my bedroom.

PS. I never use wifi, my phone is my home internet.
