Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Sweet, I'll probably be on it this afternoon. :)
Have a problem with my Chromebook. Darn thing keeps prompting me to "update" every couple weeks. :D

I am officially in love with technology again.

This new laptop is the sheer bomb-diggity. I have so far used PCMover to move all my stuff and settings from the old laptop to this one; mirrored it to the TV with the WiDi adapter; linked my office PC to it; set all my passwords for system and websites into the fingerprint scanner so that a flick of the finger logs me in; and essentially used the thing in ways that the old laptop couldn't DREAM.

Waiting for Dragon Naturally Speaking 12 to show up on the UPS truck so I can install it. And then The Chief will be unstoppable! :D

Well, there's the Darling Bride and her Honey Do list... that would slow me down a lot :p

Hey. I’ve had this eensy Optimus S for two years and it raised me well. But now I’m on the Sprint site and it says I can get Gnex fer nuthin! Well, nuthin but another two years.

Is there any reason I shouldn’t go to the store tomorrow and make this trade?

The Gnex is still a great phone, but I wouldn't get it today unless I was really strapped for cash.
Cnet actually just did a top 5 on free or super cheap phones and put the Gnex at #1. :)

It may be a year and a half old, but the Galaxy Nexus – if modified, as most of ours are – is up-to-date and perfectly capable of running today's applications. Granted, it may only have 1 GB RAM (half what modern high-end phones have), but I find it perfectly fine for absolutely everything I need it to do... from wifi analysis to banking and shopping to editing documents to managing my calendar to making phone calls.

:)

Thanks to your and other’s comments. I have been advised to wait until something like the S4 coming out and causing the S3 to go (almost) free.

And yes, I’m still stuck at 2.2.2. It had a Gingerbread update that made it worse, so I went back and stayed there.

Good morning all!

Supposedly today is compensation notification day - let's see if that is true. It would make my day better since I was awake until 3AM fixing a production issue.

Good luck Stigy! My company starts on Monday, goes through the next two weeks. Although they have so watered down the process, everyone gets the same amount. I can tell you right now what I'm getting without knowing my review score. No incentive to do more than the minimum amount to keep you from getting fired to be honest. :p

Hello all...

I am brand new to Android (having used both IOS and WP8) and to my Galaxy Nexus.

So far, so good....other than the (as advertised) battery life.

I am running Juice Defender and as few widgets as possible, but would love to hear (and utilize) and tips that you may have.

Many thanks.

At least get the extended battery. It doesn't add any thickness. And if you don't mind a thicker phone, get yourself the battery that does add a very noticeable thickness. Flashing different kernels can help, a little.

I despise that show :banghead:

I only watched it because they were in Pennsylvania and I know people that were talking about it on facebook who know people that were on the show. I stupidly watched the first season when I still had tv. Towards the end of the season I started to realize how dumb it was.

I used to watch Whale Wars too. That was the show that started my disgust for television.
