Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Maybe make sure that scribd gets a report of you as the Copyright "owner"?

Its always helpful for me too!! Massive thanks to you for putting it all in writing.

Not only did I report it, I had to post a Copyright notice and a stupid LEGAL DISCLAIMER at the end of the Guide prohibiting distribution! This was just supposed to be a helpful little instruction manual... but think about it: older posted material will become outdated, dangerous and might brick phones in the future. And that would make ME look bad!

So your name is Josh Brown? :p:D

No it is not. I have no idea who Mr. Brown is, but he re-published my Guide without permission

I have sent a copyright infringement notice to Scribd, hopefully that thing will be pulled FAST.

Gents:

A bit about me…

I am a 49 year old divorced / remarried father of two.

I am in the Army Reserves (I am a Combat Engineer) and returned from Afgh in Nov

I have recently been rehired at a Wall St firm

I have used Blackberry, IOS and Windows Phone…..very much wanted to try Android, and a Nexus phone seemed the way to go.

I am a bit of a tech geek…..translated, that means I know what I want to do, but occasionally f things up along the way.

I have used the Android Forums many times when searching for info, but registered now that I have taken the plunge.

Thx in advance for the help / advice.

Congrats Stigy and welcome to the WH lwjzos. Now we can get some real inter-service rivalry posts between AF, Navy and Army!

things are going...
today is a big doc appointment at 3 that starts this long road of treatment maybe more surgery or starting chemo :(
so well know soon (finally) maybe

Good luck kid. We are all in your corner. Keep us posted as best you can and feel comfortable doing.

I watched Band of Brothers. Does that count? :o :D :)

I woke up excited thinking Samsung event today :)

And now just realizing it is next week :o

I would have been a 3rd generation Navy but they wanted to make me a nuclear engineer and shove my 6'2" frame in a submarine. Plus, I didn't like my father much so I refused to follow in his footsteps:rolleyes:

haha my dad was a bubble head he said it was fun in that little tube with a bunch of guys (but who am i to judge)
I saw how the NAVY tried to teat my dad when he got close to retirement and that is what made me not follow in his footsteps

haha my dad was a bubble head he said it was fun in that little tube with a bunch of guys...

We surface Navy types could go on all day long telling Bubblehead jokes :D

But deep down inside I admire him... I don't think I could ride a boomer for 6 months at a time under the ice sheets

The Navy actually has treated me very well. I did 20 years and 6 months just to MAKE SURE that there was no doubt in anyone's mind that I had retirement benefits coming to me. So they actually took fairly good care of me going out.

Only heartache I had was that it was a high-pressure command and they expected ME to arrange my OWN retirement ceremony! I decided heck with it: let's have a luncheon in the boardroom, my Darling Bride will bring the cake, you guys give me my paperwork and we'll all it quits.

But considering the pay & benefits I get? I'd do it again 10 times over in a heartbeat. It was a great ride.

EDIT: JBSourcery 5.2 Exp is in IRC ;)

Morning all... TGIF!

Got my new video card last night, still waiting for the water CPU cooler to get here.
Gonna give some games a try this weekend. See what it looks like!

And to add to the military talk.. I was offered Navy nuke school, and also could not figure out how my 6'4" frame would work...
Instead I took Army communications and did Y2K computer upgrades in the late 90s, combat zone after combat zone, deployed 4 times...until, on a stateside tour, and at a mountain warfare school, my belay dropped the safety rope, and I fell over 30ft into solid rock... Shattered my spine. Effectively ending my (34 Bravo) Army life permanently.
No hard feelings left, just doctors etc for the rest of my life. Thankful I can walk again, play with my kids, and that I am still around. I am happy that there are so many people that will never have to experience what I did, and that there will always be tech to support all of our troops!

Yikes man, that sounds terrifying! Glad you survived that!

Morning all! Happy Friday! So kind of happy, the county recently paved a dirt road along the absolute shortest route to work, so it is all paved roads now. Cuts an additional two miles off my route (41 miles vs. 43 miles). With as much as I drive, and as expensive as gas is, every little bit helps. :p

Ryan, I hope the VA is taking care of you!

That's their job... and if you haven't applied, don't fight them yourself! Find the nearest DAV chapter and get someone in your corner who knows how to fight them.

I recently was denied education benefits for my son by the VA even though I was entitled: the DAV took my notice of disagreement upstairs to the VA and slammed it down on the education desk, demanding an answer.

You know what? A reconsideration was MANDATED and the denial was reversed within 2 weeks! He starts school May 1st :D

So get your benefits!

That's a great example of what they CAN do... It took about 5years for my stuff to get fixed, but now it's all pretty much settled. Permanently disabled and they do take care of a lot. Especially surgeries.. Can't tell you how much $ we have spent with doctors etc over the years, but they really are good. And I don't mind being a guinea pig when it comes to new styles of implants.. As long as I can walk and play with my kids... I am a happy camper. A long and arduous time. But they have taken care of me and my family, and will continue to do so. The only regrets I have are so much time lost with my family and kids... Being bed ridden is not conducive to a family life.

It's true! The ol' Chief had the opportunity to test a part of Key Lime Pie on my Galaxy Nexus! Not the whole thing, mind you: just part. And I know that you folks are true skeptics, refusing to believe it unless you see a picture.

Well here it is... my beloved Ginny with Key Lime Pie! I decided to hide it:

:p

:D

Needless to say, I wasn't that impressed...

:D
