Root Update from ZVA to VV3 Or VV4

I haven't tried but if the phone performs well with ZVV4 I could care less about root. I might try that tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes.
 
WOW. Smooth so far, not all choppy like an OTB ZVA Connect, give me a day to get my usual apps going, I'll report back. Quickmemo is nice to have too, LOL :P

VV3 works perfectly, downloading VV4 now hopefully rooting works.

The root exploit does not work on VV4 had to revert back to VV3. Now I'm wondering why metro didn't upgrade all our phones to MS840V since it seems like a software update.
 
Lg update tool will only give you ZVA because LG and Metro haven't released VV3 & 4 to the public. It's only available on new connects.
 
Updated mine to VV4, failed at root :(
Hows everyones battery life with vv4? compared to Rom#2 and Stock ZVA?
 
Battery seems a bit better than any other ROM I've used here. It is a lot smoother and there is a huge improvement in phone signal/service. I remember when my phone use to go to 3g/EV it would show now signal now it doesn't do that any more. It seems much more stable than ZVA or any other ROM here. I've used my phone for 12 hours and I'm at 12%. QuickMemo works great!!!! If we were able to root this and create a ROM using VV4 as a base it would probably be the best ROM the connect can get.
 
kk im all done is it safe to do a factory reset because i dont have root anymore. you do lose root after flashing? i do know you can re root on vv3 thats why i flash that instead of vv4. it seams very nice smoth and connection seems a lot better

Yea, factory reset will work fine. You are 100% stock after flashing firmware, besides apps still installed.

Ok, so here's what's up. I flashed VV4 to my phone last night. Right off the bat it's silky smooth and fluid, transitions, animations and such. It's pretty much the same look, same apps but now includes quickmemo, like the Motion users have! 4G signal was consistent, none of that drop-off like Jgarcia mentioned, which was happening to me as well.

Battery life, in my case with a QCell 3850 mAh extended was only down to 70% with moderate use (few calls, few SMS, WordsW/Friends battles, FBooking and some web browsing on AF). The same kind of day running a stripped, rooted, stock ZVA would leave me with less than 40%. Quite a difference considering the VV4 is fully bloated!

Now I flashed VV3, rooted, CWMTouched, stripped most of the useless apps I never use, so we'll see how it runs without the bloat. I forgot how nasty the bloatware is on the Connect; myExtras, Easy Wifi being two that HAD TO GO, and quickly. Hoping I can squeeze even more out of my battery now, perhaps I can start using my slim battery again :D I'll report back again tomorrow!
 
Please let me know if you manage to find a way to root VV4, I'm currently running VV3 since I have too many apps that require root.

Well I flashed VV3, rooted, removed bloatware, installed Holo Launcher, deleted LG home, copied over the MMS.apk from #2 Rom, since I like the black look to it and I have my phone running like butter right now. :D
 
Question could someone build or theme or make a flash able zip rom based off of vv3 for the rest of us I don't have internet to upgrade to vv3 on my computer
 
For those of you who may or may not believe that a baseband for a phone can make a huge difference?? This is my speedtest result from here at work since updating to only VV3, I used to max out at around 6mb

This is freaking insane speeds
