Root Update from ZVA to VV3 Or VV4

If you don't have an internet connection, it'll be best to download the op files since its a one-time download. I don't know what city your in but try the library, mcdonalds, starbucks, barnes & nobles, malls, parks, public transit, etc for wifi.

Wish I had those figures. I've run everything from ZV8 to VV4. My speeds are never any faster or slower; only difference is connectivity ZV* drops 4G like it's hot and VV* keeps a better hold of 4G instead of switching every 20 secs. Boston area 4G blows anyway LOL, I get faster speeds miles outside of the city, not that fast though :D:D
 
On one test i got 750 kbps download and 2103 kbps upload
Second test i got 1097 kbps download and 2022 kbps upload

If you mean 4G speed, not really. 4G here in Boston is slow, so I would have noticed. VV4 kept a better lock on 4G, where as VV3 switches between 1x and 4G more frequently, but not nearly as much as ZV* firmware. VV3 is happy medium for me, gotta have root access :)
 
And do you have zero signal? Like a red X? Most of the radio issues we were having is the red X, but all data including 4G still worked. I think there was a couple of peeps that lost 4G but had everything else.
 
I have the bars, but no 4G, 3G, nothing. I can make calls, but no apps work or anything. I'm at my wits end trying to fix this all afternoon. :(
 
You can also try toggling airplane mode off/on, and the same with data. Try both. You're the first case of losing data while flashing VV3 from ZVA, so I can't really help beyond that. Only thing I have left is to keep trying for VV4 :(
 
Most of the problems were eventually fixed with a bunch of hail mary passes. Restoring backups, flashing more firmware, etc. But losing all data while keeping phone is not what usually happened, esp with flashing VV3 :confused:
